Hey all.
Santa Wife got me a 700E super combo for Christmas. This one has the 700MX/510 motor and Castle 120.
I have never set up a Castle ESC before.
I am assuming I will need a programmer.

I run my 700N birds at about 1950 on the head in idle up.

Assuming I use the stock gearing with the 700E kit, I am looking for guidance for setting up the Ice 120 for 1700 in normal and 2000 in idle up.

Jim,

Bert Kammerer recommends the following.

Use Governor Set RPM mode
1700
2000
2200

The governor gain is set at 7.
Current limiting is insensitive.
Lipo auto cut off
Timing Normal

Everything else is stock

you will want to use the castle link to program or the field link card actually functions as a castle link when connected through the PC.

to most mortals 2200RPM is pretty darn excessive on the headspeed. having said that, looking at your fleet you will likely enjoy flying up at that high RPM. myself i run it at 2000 in idle2 1850 in idle1 and 1650 in normal.

to me running anything over 2000 on a 90 size heli is just beating the air to the clouds and back for nothing but a little more pop. obviously im no tareq so i can't pop and stop for 5 minutes straight.

Who cares... its just money...
