Finally got a break in the weather and a few spare minutes to get a test flight on this camera. So far I am really liking it. It is really nice to be able to shoot 1080p slow motion!

I agree - stunning.

And long flowing clips too instead of the 10 second edits we see so much of.

Obviously fake. That was done with a super technocrane, 400 feet of curved dolly track, all mounted on a floating barge towed behind a submarine, manned by twenty invisible grips and a camera crew in the boathouse.......

Nice work Tabb.

Thanks guys, I had fun putting this together. Glad you enjoyed it!

Vortex...what do you mean by 'RS'??

Perry, it is all the trade secrets I have stolen from you over the years that allow me to even keep a helicopter upright!

Ahmet...AF100 is a new camera from Panasonic, I think it has a different model name outside of the US?

Patrick....quit giving away my secrets, it was damn hard to not tip over the barge when we were swinging the technocrane around!

vrwired, mount is from Copterworks.

Steve, Get in gear! Only kidding, I went with the lumix 7-14 to start with. I am really impressed with the lens! It was making some beautiful flares earlier in the day. I will be testing some more lens options soon I hope.

Best,

Tabb

Man Tabb that just blows me away.

Agree the 7-14 looks to be the way to go, at least initially.

The Olympus 9-18 might work too but i think you may give up some in camera functionality.

RS = Rolling Shutter

Chris, I have not seen any weird rolling shutter things going on yet....that said I think the camera shooting 1080 is very very sensitive to vibration. I was getting a bit of sub pixel vibration initially that my 5D would not pick up. I had to re work my mounting configuration a bit to bring the chopper up to AF100 spec.

I think it is worth the effort though to be able to shoot 1080 overcrank
