hi

i have been having problems with my radio, so am thinking of upgrading it to a 8fg, seems like good value and equal if not better than my current one plus its FASST 2.4

does the 8 fg have a smooth left stick or does it have a wrachet(never liked it)

will i miss any thing from my radio compared to this one?

is there antthing else i should know or consider?

does the 8 fg only have a 5 point curve?

thanks for your time

Its a much nicer radio than the 9C which really was an 8 channel radio with an on/off 9th channel IF you ran PCM.

There's an 8FGH version which is the heli version with a smooth throttle.

Only 5 points? Why would you need more than that?

I can add points anywhere in the curve, up to 7 points on my 11X, and to be honest, on my 3d machines I only use 3, low, 0 pitch, and high.

do u think there is anything to gain from the 10c or would you advise to stick with the 8fg?

Stay with the 8FG. The software is upgradeable and is not on the 10C.

AA Simon:

+1 on the 8FG over the 10c. If you are into planks or for whatever reason want more than 8 channels the 12 FGH is the other radio to consider IMHO.

The nice thing about 2.4 is that you can do it all with one TX so you can splurge a bit if your budget will allow.

if the 8fg's like the 6ex/9c/10c then the smooth plate for the throttle will be in the box
all you need to do is take the back off the tx and swop them over

so i went to shop today and was told the 8fgh is not available in portugal,

went home and tried to order from midland helicopters in uk (i use them regularly and like them) and was told its not available in uk either, so looks like i will have to order a normal 8fg.

can any one else confirm this?
