I have seen and used both the Harbor Freight and the Honda. I did purchase a honda because I had the extra money. The harbor Freight onw my friend has is great and has lasted two seasons so far.

Has anybody here ever used generatorsdirect.com ? I've ordered 2 units from them and was very happy with them. Free shipping and no tax. The link is to a honeywell that I have. More on par with a Honda without the crazy honda prices. Very pleased with it! puts out a perfect 60hertz signal and it's very quiet and no mixing oil. Throttles back off when you are not drawing the amps.

Just real quick wanted to add. There may be something nicer, and maybe something cheaper. I have yet to see anything this light weight, this quiet, this well made and that puts out perfect power for a better price. I am interested to see if this thread can reveal solar power that could rival an inverter generator though. I would love to get some free energy from the sun

my solar panel may only output 110 watts but I have it setup to run through a deep cycle battery so it charges the battery all day, I can still charge the big packs as fast as I want and as since I fly nitro also I never have to charge a 6s 5k battery more that 6-8 times in one day so it works great for me. when I am not charging the flight batteries the solar deep cycle is recovering for the next charge. now if you fly a 90 electric and it is your primary heli you need a generator, there is just no way around it.
