with this new motor coming out... could we possibly be seeing align and other companies make a 1.20 class heli? or are they intending this to be strictly stupid powerful for 90 size helis???

Bigger displacement/size = more fuel consumption + Heavier = Lower Run times and possibly no gains .. etc...

We'll see how much true benifit overall there is for sure, it will be interesting.

...Once upon a time there were Nitros, flybars and frequency pins...

tim jones is testing it.

that trex 700 in the back ground is tims and it has the 120 motor in it for testing.

guess they must have seen the nitro vs heli posts me and escobar sparked up and they decided to show what real power looks like.

that big ol 700 is gonna fly like a 450 size electric

It makes considerably more power with 30% nitro (closer to electric torque values)but it does consume a bit more fuel. However it will be comparable with current 90's values if you use 20% nitro. Plus you save a few bucks.

YS
i talked to Richard Verano from YS as he was in town for the holidays and he said you get about a minute longer flying time than a E 90 , not quite the power but you are 2 lbs. lighter.

1 min longer than an E, does that mean 1 min longer than Tim Jones's 3.5 min's or 1 min longer than an E with comparable weight and HS?
2 lbs. lighter than what...Tim Jones E90? The reason I ask is my heaviest TR E90 is about 3/4 of a lb. heavier than my TR N90 with about 2/3's tank, and my lightest one is about 2-3 oz. more than the N was(10 lbs 9.5 oz.). I'm asking to get specifics, because there are a lot of variables, esp. in E helis...
Thanks

Trex 700
a minute longer that a standard Trex E700, NOT tim`s beast 700.

2 lbs. different between a nitro 700 and e 700 (his words)

Sounds like a thirsty helicopter!
The 90 sucks fuel like my kid drinking chocolate milk through a straw.
Can't imagine the 120 consumption.

It is cool to re-engine a kit. Sometimes it is a success, like the 55-57 on a 600. Other times it's not so good, but it seems it is always worth a try!
