Houston you have a new exclusive Heli only flying field located in the SW. Ft. Bend Heli's is now open and on a membership drive. The dues is only $50. This includes electricity and full size restrooms with running water and a concession stand. The field is fully built and ready the begin flying. Most of you know the story behind it and how we got it.

Membership applications are locater at RC Hobbies, or I can be emailed at jerry.kirwan@gmail.com. AMA will be required and this will be a 2.4 only field. NO 72 Mhz can be flown here.

Please contact me for further information.

Two paved runways for helis? What a waste, if I was a member I'd be breaking all kinds of rules with my planks :P

Runways
This is a retired plank field, and county park. There was problems with a nearby farmer and homes being built near by. The county relocated the plankers to another nearby site. Thus the 2.4 resriction! The county was going to let the site go to waste until Jerry and a few others stepped in and explained that Heli do not need the airspace the plankers need. Also the plankers had a couple of Jet guys. who was really using up airspace. One cool thing about this site that we have 360 degrees around the site to do setups and hover in the back and all out 3D in the front. As for the cross runway It is clear on both ends to do speed run and drag races.

Such a great place to fly at. I flew there often back in 2009 when I spent the summer in Houston.
