Hi Guys

I have been a way from the hobby for 3 years now.
I was living too far from the field and having many problems with the heli. Spend an hour to go there only to find out that something is not working, and no one to help you.

Now I am back, and I plan to get my old EVO 50 up and running.
Its been on the shelve for all this time, and is dusty. I did start the engine once a year, just to check it was still ok.

What would you guys do to clean it up and get it ready? Is there anything that I should change that would have gone bad? I will change all the fuel lines.

There has been a lot of advances in this hobby just within the last few years, and I have been reading for a week now just to follow up a bit.
I will get the new Futaba T8FG and go 2,4, but is there anything else you guys would do / change. I have a GV 1 Gov, 9350 on Pitch, 9252 on cyclics.
Oh yes, I need a new Gyro, the csm is on a Trex. Any recommendations?

Much appreciated
Jonas

All of your electronics plus the new radio are fine.

If buying a new gyro, put either a GY520 or GY701 in it.

Agree with Dr. Ben on the gyro. Get a BLS251 tail servo either way.

To answer your other question, just go over the bearings and make sure they are all smooth and I would replace the head dampers if it has been sitting around for three years. Also relube the thrust bearings.

+1 on the servo. Worth the expense.

Fine advice as well on the thrust races and so forth. I would actually take the thrust races out, throughly clean them, inspect for any signs of corrosion, and either relube or replace depending on what you see. They're not too $$$.

i'd stick a new rx pack into it
give it a good clean and lube, replace the rear crank bearing, get some new fuel and enjoy the evo

and the gy520 is a great little gyro
