Description of Sullivan Start Shaft upgrade:

Well my friend Ed pulled off another great mod for me. I've been contemplating getting an Align starter due to it's small compact size and battery gauge but have reluctantly held back due to the horror stories and first hand witness to the starter shaft prematurely rounding off or in some cases snapping off. Finally decided to purchase a used one from a friend at my local field but decided to modify it to take the weak link out.

I've been using a sullivan start shaft with no issues for the past two years and know several other that have been trouble free. So I purchased a new replacement shaft and had my buddy Ed cut, turn down, and re-drill the shaft in install in the Align starter.

While I was there also decided to bead blast the finish off the coupler to make it standout from the others at the field.
