I am interested in the early Hirobo Eagle (and Eagle2) variants, I am hoping that some of the RR members may be able to help out with some (any) info on the said models. I have visited http://www.vrhc.co.uk which has some good info, but I am still hoping that others may have additional pictures, instruction manuals etc. Any help is appreciated.
Cheers, Colin

I have one SST-Eagle with SSR-II head that I still fly and I simply love it. he heli has almost 20 years and it is like new. The only think that I was not able to keep original is the Canopy, so I'm using a Freya Evo one. I used to have a second one but it was stolen
What type of information do you need?

Colin,
I just moved to US and my RC stuff is still packed. As soon as I unpackit I will take some pictures for you. I can scan the manual if you need too but I have to find it in the boxes.
Cheers
Marco

Here are pics of a rotor head from what I believe is an Eagle One. It came with a bunch of Eagle One parts that I have. It is an underslung flybar which is kinda unusual I am told. Anyone know the story with this head?

Thanks
Alan

I believe that is a FFZ head. An option to the SSR
Still have a 1993 Eagle EX as a daily flier. Hundreds of flights & going strong.

Close, it's the SSZ head. The FFZ was the Condor head and mostly plastic. I have several of both.

I have bunches of original series Eagle heli's and doc's as well as Eagle series II machines. Problem is I haven't been keeping up with 'my studies' and have forgotten lots of juicy details of them

The variations are many, interchangeability of parts also many, and when parts are located you pay a premium.

There's an eBay Canada seller named KarenLeeHobbies (if I correctly recall) with all sorts of new-old-stock Hirobo parts. She lists Hirobo part numbers and any number starting in "404" is almost always Eagle related.

I shouldn't be giving away "insider information" but here's a link to what she's currently listing in the Hirobo department:

http://shop.ebay.com/KarenLeeHobbie...1.c0.m270.l1313

It's a gold mine of NOS parts, some of which I could use myself.

Happy hunting!

So many heli's - too little time...

That right - now I remember. I mounted a FFZ head with spindle & dampner upgrades on a GMP flybarless legend (which I was not crazy about the head in those days) and ended up with my first good performing 3-D trainer.
Thanks for clearing away the cob webs.

A few pics of my Eagle EX 1993 - still flying today.
Specs -
OS 61RFN-Hatori Pipe - upgraded to OS 3 needle carb
JR Radio - 950S - 4131 servos - 500T/JR2700 - 5cell/5.0V Reg
MS Composite FAI Blades or ZigSaw GP9II (depends on my mood)680's

Worn out 3 belt/tailshafts - 2 piston rings - re bearing entire machine twice - NEVER CRASHED
Joy experienced when flying-----priceless.

What are those tail feathers made of? They don't look like the original plastic ones

You have a sharp eye! The original tail feathers added too much weight to balance it out right, as it's a bit tail heavy, so I made them out of 1/8 lite ply with carbon fiber plugs on the bolt holes and 1 oz carbon mat epoxied to the surfaces. I then covered them in monokote and applied the original decals.
Not a single crack after all these years but after all, the machine is silky smooth @ 1800rpm head.
