I am building one as well. Let us know how the maiden goes. I can see that you have raided the kids rooms as well, I traded Ken with a promise to go out and buy a new Barbie for my girls

Good luck

Tried planks, but after all, wood is best on the bonfire.

billrad,
are there any plans for this bird?
If you want to call them plans, at least you can get it together. Not much in the way of explanations, like the black blade tips, at least that's what I think they are. They want fit anything else, so I have to assume they go on the ends of the blades and not real sure why.

vortechZ230,
I heard they are a Bee-itch to fly these things!, very hard to keep orientation, and they crash more than they fly!, no thanks!....
I'm not convinced it will fly, mine stalls after take off about 10 feet off the ground. Just high enough to tare something up, like the tail feathers and bend one landing gear. At least the parts are cheap.
Several of us think the blades need more negative. Last time I tried to fly it, I swear the blades slowed down going down the runway. There was a decent wind that day and the Head Speed should have increased, unless there wasn't enough negative.

I watched a guy fly one once. Orientation was absolutely horrible and his paint job didn't help either. If it banks too much, it won't recover and that is what happen to him. I'll pass on them.

The LA 500 can be a bit of a problem with orientation, I just like to fly mine at close quarters (bad eyes!)
It will take off when its ready, if you try and force it into the air you will get problems. It does fly very well and is quite easy but I have heard reports that it cannot take a bump very well.

Heres a video of mine flying last year. Must get it out again when the weather gets better over here.
