Pretty sure Matt is working on a Synergy N/E-9 FBL rotorhead.
There are the FBH rotorheads, and a RJX also.

pardon my ingornance. If I put a aftermarket head on the N9 do I have to cut the main shaft? what should I do with the part of the head that the pin goes through? last where do I get the links from the head to the swash, the ball in the head is going to be smaller that the swash so the links are going to have to be modified right? or can I change the ball on the swash

I am trying not to have to go to 4 shops for parts if the machine goes down. or find out that the parts for the head are no longer made. seems like every one that post on the bonta head have a hard time getting parts. it looks the best imo.

No you don't have to shorten the main shaft. I use the FBH rotorhead and it does use a shorter main shaft. Because of the geometry for the swash follower arms.

The control balls on the swash are 3m, so any ball that fits the link and is 3m should work. I think the RJX head comes with rods and links. As far as the pins go if you use a complete aftermarket rotorhead you shouldn't need to worry about the washout guide pins. But if you keep the stock rotorhead hub you will need to pull the pins out.

I use the RJX head for a 12mm shaft on my Synergy N9 with the Vbar - flies absolutely great.
