I would sell the Blade 400 on ebay and buy a Trex 450 Sport. Put it together than play with a Sim for a month before your first flight with an experienced pilot to set it up for you in a stable test hover.

You don't know, what you don't know. If your heli is not set up right, it makes learning that much harder. I think the Blade 400 is junk and has dicouraged many beginners right from the get go because of failed equipment right out of the box.

looks like some good advice .I started with atrex 450 you can pick up a used one cheep .Go over it good .it will fly much better than the 400 . Than went to a 600 trex didn't crash as much more stable. It gives time to think .Now i have a trex halibut 700 its 12 pounds it hovers like a rock when you go forward it goes easy you can see it .I will crash less.Crash every week and you have payed for a bigger ship that you wont crash as much .Look for a used trex 500 you mite find a deal you will be amassed and if you aren't crashing because fly better you will have more fun .Bringing a heli home in one peace is a good filing .Fli with others . Find a good hobby shop thats invaluable !!! You need to diced what your budget will allow .A good heli thats well set up is the key .If you kind of fly the 400 you will do much better with a better quality and larger ship .Have fun

I am working with an instructor. He recommended a 600.

I tried arguing with him for a while, "what about a 500? a 550?"

He didn't change his opinion.

So I got a Trex 600 electric.

He was right.
