Heli Land ....

Okay.

I had just installed the new FunKey (Carbon Tech) 550mm (symetrical) carbon fibre main blades on my Rap30V2.

Tested it yesterday and I have only one thing to say , they make a BIG difference to how the heli will perform.

Climbouts are much faster and the heli is generally much more responsive to cyclic and collective input.

I can get the heli to 'bounce' up and down like a yoyo whilst hovering and then max the collective for a rapid 300 feet climbout. If I do this whilst piroing , the view for spectators is very impressive although it is a relatively easy manouver to do.

The quality of the blades is high. They are much much lighter than the standard woodies and from what I can tell , they are also substantially stiffer than wood blades.

I did not have to adjust pitch/throttle curves although the blades resulted in a higher headspeed, these CF blades are much more tolerant to higher headspeeds and WILL NOT disintegrate with extreme headspeed , unlike wood blades.

I would recommend CF blades to anyone making the transition to FFF and wants a better response from the heli. A 39 engine needs all the help that it can get.

Cheers.
