What do you think of the Raptor 30v2 arf. Is that extra 30 worth the price.
Is the kit very hard to build. How many hours it take to build the kit..

Smarter people will build their first heli. Then you know what's involved to repair it once it's crashed.

Kit is very easy to put together, I completed mine in two days, with many wifely distractions.

There are a few good websites out there that goes over construction, Raptortechnique.com is a great one.

There is also a video availible which also helps a bunch.

Na it's not that hard to built it so save some bucks and go get yourself some fuel to burn...
And like RUFF said, it'll help you know the helicopter better if you built it yourself just in case you have to repair it or what not...

Raptor

its easy to build only took two days to build my first one; i wouldnt recomend the RAF, one because when you do crash you know how to take it apart and analize it better. and two i hear that the factory kinda forgets to put blue locktight on some of the bolts and set screws. which could really make it intristing.

I had more fun building the kit than flying the heli (when you factor in the frustration of breaking in TWO TT39's, you would agree).

Raptor V2

Correct me if I am wrong.

The V2 ARF (Pro) is the 49 BB model, and the V2 kit (Sport) is the 29 BB model. The 20 bearing upgrade cost is about $20.00.

Total cost is about equal for each, so why build it?

If you've got someone else at your field that has built one, get the ARF.

When you have questions, call your friend when you run into "trouble".

The only trouble I had was getting the collective pitch plate off the top of the machine (when I had to replace a side frame). Gotta pry that sucker off over it's pivot studs; it was uncomfortable not knowing something like that...but I called a dear friend of mine who had built and rebuilt his V1.......at least 15 times; so he was an old pro with how they're put together.
