i am pretty sure it is but i will check, it's a super servo.
JR seem to be more popular down in my neck of the woods.

ok i just took out the 401 owners manual and all it said that i was wondering about was DS MODE SWITCH digital servo(DS) mode switch. the on position is the high speed output mode for digital servos only. when using a normal servo, alwayse set the switch to the off position. if it is set to the on position, the servo will be destroyed.

but on the other side it says DS SWITCH SETTING PRECAUTIONS
when the (DS) switch is set to the on position, the rudder servo is driven by 270HZ high speed pluses. THIS MODE IS FOR USE WITH FUTABA DIGITAL SERVOS ONLY.

SO THE WAY I SEE IT IS IF YOU WANT TO USE A DIGITAL SERVO IT HAS TO BE A FUTABA BUT IF U USE AN ANALOG I GUESS IT COULD BE ANY BRAND BUT REMEMBER TO SET THE DS MODE TO THE OFF POSITION.

i recall people were having problems with the 8411 and the futaba gyros they would be ok them just go nuts

hope this helps

thanks jp3d i think i might look at getting the 9253 with the gy401, probably the safest bet.
