Hi,

I've got a couple of spare 331 servos. Does anyone have experience with them in a Logo 10? It's not digital and has the same case as the 368, yet light and CHEAP.... The torque seems to be ok, what I am concern of is that are they too slow for cyclic control (non-aerobatic, no 3D).?

HERE is the spec on the packaging, but I did see better spec on the web..

JR 331
Dimension, 1.17"x1.12"x0.50"
Weight, 0.63oz
Torque, 45 oz/in @4.8v
Speed, 0.28 s/60@4.8v

In comparison,

JR 368
Dimension, 1.17"x1.12"x0.50"
Weight, 0.80oz
Torque, 53 oz/in @4.8v
Speed, 0.21 s/60@4.8v

Hitec HS-85MG
Dimension, 1.2"x1.14"x0.51"
Weight, 0.80oz
Torque, 41 oz/in @4.8v
Speed, 0.16 s/60@4.8v

Thanks in advance...

Mark

Hey Mark, I have those JR 331 servos on my Logo 10 and they suck. Their all right if your just hovering around but they are too slow for anything after that. They also move at different speeds so your swash plate kind of wobbles around and makes your flying unstable. I'm going to buy 3 JR DS3421 servos to replace them. They are digital, have more torque and are faster then the 331's. The 368 servos your looking at are all right, but for a $30.00 more a servo you can get a way better one. The DS3421's are a lot faster then the 368's, have more torque and the most important they have 2 bb's in them. The 368's don't have any ball bearings in them at all. They sell them in Australia at Radio Model Supplies in Western Australia for $143.90 each. Go to this link http://www.ozshops.com/cgi-bin/RT_R...plication=radio After you get there click on "Control" After that page comes up click on "Servos" then go to the JR section of the list. You will find all the servos there. Hope this helps?

Take Care,
Cheers, Patrick

Thanks, Patrick.

I got some DS3401s (new model number for DS3421) at a local shop for $149 each, it was a hard decision between DS3401 and HS85MG (AU$70), but I guess, that's one less upgrade to worry about.

Cheers,
Mark

I've flown my Logo 10 with both DS 368's and more recently, upgraded to DS3421's.

There is a noticeable difference in the two, but only when you advance to 3D.

There is a good page about Logo Servo's at:

When I changed my Venture (also eCCPM like the Logo) from bottom end analog servos (JR 537's) to some Hitec digitals (5475's) there was an immediate change to how the heli behaved. With the digitals the hover trim is always locked in and the heli responds much more positively to my inputs.

I think the definitively better centering and holding torque of digital servos really makes a difference in eCCPM setups where you are relying on all three servos to behave at all times for any given input.

For anyone trying to decide between analog and digital servos for their Logo... Go digital! The Logo I recently purchased has Hitec 85MG's in it. I can't wait to get my hands on three JR DS-3421's! Maybe for Christmas.

I have 3 NIB Hitec HS-85 Metal Gear BB servos for sale now for $85 dollars shipped in the US if any one wants them.
I used these servos with great results when I was a field rep for Mikado. I sold all but these last 3 and the MIK BEC when I sold all of my Mikado stuff.
