Hi,

I'm about to buy a 50 machine this month, and it looks like the best choice will be a 50 Evo. I already have a MP1 laying aroung so it's gonna have some serious power

I'm not yet shure whether I should buy ARF with the OS Evo engine, it costs the same as the kit with a normal OS50. I could get a 60B carb for 20$ and I think that might be a good option (I use cp15%).
But then the TT50 seems to be nice too, as well as the Weston 50, not an easy decision...

Anyway, I'm wondering which spare parts I should buy - I'll get it from Japan, because I'm not gonna pay 650$ for the old Sceadu without DTDS... it's that much in Switzerland. So I want to stock the most important parts, what should I get? Boom, mast, spindle, frames and a tail hub are on my list, anything else that is prone to break? If I have a real bad crash I'll order from Japan anyway, but I'd like to stock the most important parts as well...

What upgrades should I consider? I'd like delrin gears but I think it's too much for an unecessary upgrade!
I read about the SD flywheel on jason.net, anybody have partnumber and price?
Anybody changed the tail gear (the small one which is on the front pulley and in contact with the big dtds gear, I hope you know what I mean).

Oh, most important, it's hex start right?

Let's just hope Japanese kits come with American instructions

Regards,

Andi

Hi Andi
I replaced the std. 17t to a 17t delrin gear, its said to make the drivetraing smoother.
Can check part no. on both the 17t gear and SD flywheel later.

And yes, its 6mm hex

'Hm now I just have to find out where to connect the GV1 sensor to the Jazz80 ESC.

Hi,

I see you fly the 3D, would you go with that over the Evo? Price difference is not that high, but those shiny metal parts might be pretty expensive in a crash!

Found this on Hirobo's Sceadu 3D site:
0412-190 SD-G Flywheel For OS50 (key type)
Couldn't find the price on Rons site though...

Delrin gear, sounds good!

Btw, I forgot the flybar on my crash parts list...

Checked my 3D manual, and the flywheel is no. #0412-191 (#0412-190 is the pushpull linkage set) the price recommended by Hirobo is 3200Yen for the flywheel.
Delrin 17t gear #0414-169 (same as Freya)

Not sure which one I choose if had to choose again, the EVO is smooth but the 3D is "shiny", think some of the blue parts is hard to smash in a crash, but if they breaks it gonna costs some more $ to repair.

And the manual is written in english

Hi,

I was reading a lot of older stuff this day.

I'm thinking of skipping all the shiny upgrades (well maybe the SD flywheel) and getting a 601 or at least a 502. I mean I need some sort of voltage meter anyway

Andi

evo parts

you might want to add a flybar, tail shaft and tail servo pushrod wire and main blades if you get a better deal on them overseas and a set of spare landing gear. avery

pick up a pair of Minair Tuff Strutt 2's... much wider track on the landing gear, really helps in autos, especially if you don't do them so hot..

Hi,

thanks, I really forgot the flybar

The other things sound good too, but I'll switch to 60cm carbon blades from BBT, they are great and cheap...

Don't know about the tuff struts, I can't get them from Japan. I'll wait till a friend orders from the USA so I don't have to pay a lot for postage... thanks for the tip.

Regards,

Andi
