I have a raptor 50 v2, itz my first heli, ive thrashed it about and still havent crashed it yet, very pleased 2 still have it in 1 piece.

since im new 2 the hobby i was just wondering about what will get damaged when i do eventually crash it - wot parts of the heli are most likely to get damaged in an average everyday crash???

i will soon order a raptor 50 v2 crash kit, how much are these?.

any help will be much appriciated.

thanx

I have had 6 crashes so for and what I have had to replace mostly is The boom and supports, feathering spindle, main mast, landing gear, and a couple ball ends. In one of them I drove the tail in the ground and had to replace the tail caseing. Haveing another frame set around isnt a bad idea , had tow replace mine after the 4th crash. I to am new to helis and still haveing a ball . ( if you aint crashen you aint flyen) famous last words.LOL I got my crash kits from heliproz . Now I just order the parts above and if I need something I just order 2 day. Hope this helps.

I've had 5 crashes so far and been flying for about 15 months. usually broken bits are boom, supports, flybar, spindle, sometimes main shaft, couple links. I've managed to break the frame once by forgetting to pull up out of a stall turn (got a little disorientated) it's worth having a spare frame (they're only cheap) and a set of bearings. Because I found that when i split the frames there was a little wear on the main shaft and there is nothing worse than having to strip the frame down after just rebuilding it to replace the things and at least if you've already got the bearings you can get the majority of the heli back together rather than have loadz of bits of heli strewn round the house. For some reason the girlfriend doesn't like bits of heli round the living room. She got no taste

My theory goes something like this......

If you're going to crash, then at least make it INTERESTING to those watching. I rate my crashes by how many parts fly back up from the impact crater.

That being said, I guess a new kit would be considered a crash kit for some of us.

as for how many times, I've lost count and probably would not want to know how much it costs anyways.

Cheers
Jeff

I have a Raptor 50V2 and the coast of repair hasn't been to bad except for carbon blades. A buddy of mine made me a set of carbon paddles out of SAB 600 blades and it really impvoved the roll and flip rate. They also fly very well in FF. Stick time is the best way to improve your skills. I try to fly every night after work weather permiting. talk to you guys later.
