Seeing David Blaines' new stunt I seem to think there must be some trickery somewhere, what does everyone else think ?

He's living in a box suspended in the air and trying to survive for 44 days on water alone

Was it on tonight WIll? I've seen the adverts, but not too bothered any more.

I used to do al the magic crap for about 6 years on and off, pretty neat, but expensive and got boring. The tricks he does, as in the bite-thru-coin and levitation is all bull crap, but I'm not too sure about the standing on the pole thing and this new one, could just be weeks of training and therapy like what you'd do before climbing Everest.

I think I still have some of the magic gear lying in the bottom of my heli-box. One thing I had which you might of seen on Paul Zennon's trick or treat, is that huge butchers knife and you just chop right into your arm, you start bleeding but have to stop when you reach the bone. That was an entertainer alright, although when they found it on me at college I had a hard time explaining!

Yeah, I think it was on last night James. I think if you're sad enough you can watch the whole thing on a webcam somewhere

I reckon all the magic stuff is regular illusion, however the enduro is real. I believe that someone has already lasted 40 days on water alone, and DB is very good at slowing his heart rate, thats how he is so good at the enduro.

Sorry guys, but I have to give my two cents!
I'm a fulltime magician that flys helis because I need a stress relief after kid shows!!!!! David Blaine.....is he a fake? Well we all are, but he is too the extreme. He has used trick photography in many of his TV specials (Copperfield never does), many of the tricks he does is beginner magic and on top of it all, he's arrogant. He was at a magic convention 2 years ago in New York (even David Copperfield was there) with 600 other maigicians and was excorted out because he wasn't registered......however, he thought he could sneak in.

The only good thing about David Blaine is he has the world talking about close-up magic which is a type of magic which seems to be overlooked. However he seems to be more busy with stunts that aren't even magical. The public loves his old stuff and that's the way he should continue his art...not lock himself in boxes and icecubes!

There ya go!

i like his card tricks. the levitation trick is too much to be real, however it is a little amusing

he has that "i know more than you and i know i know more than you, do you know that?" attitude to him.

There's camera trickery when they show that. He does something called the Balducci levitation (or something like that), which is just keeping your feet together and rising your self up on the front part of your left/right foot and have the spectators diagnally opposite which is actually what he shows the bloke on the street. It only appears to rise about an inch or so.

Then they switch the camera angle and show you a pre-recorded bit where he is actually winched up to about 1 foot high. It looks like he's doing it in front of the real audience, but you actually only see part of the same colour jacket in the bottom of the screen. Then they flip back and show you the spectator's shock of the little 1 inch levitation. I'm sure if you do a search on google you'll find some info on it.

I wouldn't make a good member of the magic circle I don't think! I wouldn't of wrote this if it wasn't spread around the internet like a virus so I'm not breaking any rules really.

I think I'll skip the webcam Will! Where abouts in Scotland are you?

and it's been revealed somewhere that the frozen in ice thing he did in time square was fixed...he wasn't in there all the time. The one on the pole he had a pole he could sit on...

as for the latest...i dunno - a sheet goes round each night (apparently) and to me thats a prime time switching time!

I'm in Aviemore, it used to be big ski resort. Not any more

I think I read in a paper that people have been throwing eggs at his box and teeing off at him, there was a picture of a guy on a cherry picker wiping them off , hahaha

As for the levitation stuff, that's pretty crap. I didn't realise he was that much of a fraud

That should liven the show up a bit! I wonder if they could lob bricks that far?

I've been to Aviemore a long time ago. Don't laugh I was only small , but there was a Santa Centre or something there. Then after we went to see Nessie. I come from Aberdeen myself, but live in Dumfries for about 2 months of the year with my dad.

Magic is kinda crap when u know it's done. I must say that David Copperfield's shows are great! He came to South Africa once where he flew around the stage through hoops and in a glass box. I couldn't get tickets tho, just caught the highlights!

I saw a vid of him removing his heart from his chest on a talk show. Looked pretty convincing! The host almost shat himself as a result.

Anyone seen that?
