I'm leaving Friday morning (the 26th)from Ft Worth. But with all the lack of planning by the Mt Pleasant folks this may be my last SRC. I have been there 6 years in a row but now there is no pre reg discount and no caps or shirts either from what I've been told. Not many sponsors signed up either, don't think any where called. Could be alot of just fun flying and chatting.

For one, I am not disapointed. Maybe getting back to the roots that made it fun is what it needs. I have been attending it for, about 15-16 years. The smaller goups and good freinds is what it is about, not the give away stuff. All that stuff cost the club a lot of money so the landing fees go up and the clubs cut gets small. Like it or not, next to the fun, the club needs to make money to maintain the facilaties.

I will be there again this year.

See ya there,

Steven

Mt Pleasant

Go to Ron Lunds site and pullup funflys. Go to Mt. Pleasant and click on their webb site. I'm pretty sure there's a map on this site. If not, go to Raptor Technique site and check with Micheal.

No, that is what the Home field is for, I can do the basics at home, which is where I think I'll be this year. I think there was next to no
planning for this year and this is what you get. The old sponsors did not even get contacted by the CD, no wonder why there is a whopping 5 sponsors for this year. I think the ball was dropped, big time.

Here is a link to the funfly website. It includes directions on how to get there.

response to here-say

Hello, the funfly here in Mount Pleasant is going on as it has for the last 16 years, as this is number 17. We have lowered the registration fee to 25.00 this year. I am an original charter member from when we formed the club 20 years ago.
Scale contest will have awards thru 5th place per 518 new version rules. We will be doing open funfly and fun stuff all three days.
As of now we have at least ( three helis ) to be given away amongst other things. All vendors were contacted as in the past. Some prefer to lean more to funflying than marketing, and we are going to the basics and this year will be fun as usual. The vendors interested will either be here or will be furnishing some of the giveaways or discounts for the items we obtain.
Friday night hamburger get together for early arrival folks as always.
The most notable thing is we are not giving caps away with registration.
We are not selling T shirts this year. But... we did drop reg. to 25.00.
We look forward to everyone coming and having a good time as usual.
Our new field house is under construction so excuse our mess when you arrive.
Yes, Mike Prewitt will do some clinics to help beginners on up to 3-D stuff .
That is what a funfly is as previously stated. Hope to see all of you there. Weldon
