Has anyone tried to get Ace to replace thier Raptor 90 clutches? I have never had a Raptor Clutch fail in any of my Raptors till I bought the heaviest one they sell. The first one broke with about 10 flights on it and the second one cracked with about 80 flights on it. I have sent an email to Ace asking for them to be replaced. We will see what kind of service they have.

I had the same problem, the clutch would break in the same area that yours have. I broke two of them before I put in a Quick UK clutch. I have been running that all summer without issue. I highly recommend the Quick UK clutch as the fix for this. I also have sourced some good gasket material to use for the clutch liner, it is thicker than the TT stuff and works great.

Well it has been 5 days since I emailed Ace and no reply yet. I haven't tried to phone, but you think they would at least given a confirmation that they received my email. Maybe Ace is as bad as I heard. That would be to bad, because I like the Thunder Tiger Heli's.

You should call them, and dont rely on Cyberservice, those emails get lost, and redirected, and sit in somebodys inbox for days. Call them, and you will get an instant response.

The TT HD clutch is a crap, a real crap. I have broken couples and many of them didn't last long before it cracked!

Looks like I need to get a Quick one.

Update - Clutch number "3"!!!!

Finally had to phone Ace a few weeks ago because they wouldn't reply to my email. They told me that if I sent the Clutches to them they would replace them. Well I just blew my 3rd clutch up for the year or I guess 14 months and there is not another clutch to be found up here where I live. If I mail these clutches to Ace, I get the funny feeling I may not see anything for quite a while. The local distributor for Thunder Tiger can't get any parts from ACE I guess. The local hobby shop has had them on back order for 3 months. I don't think I want to piss around with Ace anymore. I am going to buy a Quick UK clutch and from now on just buy all my parts over sea.

the QUK clutch is much better...

the stock one is carp, as you have discovered...

Mine warped within a few flights!!!

both arms were bent upwards and rubbing the clutch drum, knew it was a failure waiting to happen so switched all my rappies to QUK ones and not had a problem since...

Don't Email me as I wont reply - PM Only (spam countermeasures)

You know I have never had a clutch go in either my R30 and R60 and I have had them along time, with alot of flights, I have worn out one R30 and working on the second one, but as soon as I bought the R90 clutch I started having problems, to top it all, I had the sneaking suspicion that it was going the last ten flights, because at a low idle, there was a fare amount of torque, but I was lazy and too busy trying to figure my problems with the CSM 560, and in the end wrecked my liner, so I either got to try to grind it out, which I am not into right now, or maybe when I phone Ricks this morning, they have maybe they have clutch bells there that they have put liners in. I have burned liners out in crashes before, and never had good luck grinding out the old liner, I always seem to screw it up some how.

When I remove my old liners, I use a heat gun or a cigarette lighter to heat the aluminum bell slightly. Then, I stick an Xacto knife blade tip behind the liner near the joint and break it loose. Then, just heat an area and remove the liner from it as you go. They come out real easy. Then just give it a quick sanding job with 400-600 grit paper to remove the glue it leaves behind in some spots.
