The answer to the question is to only reduce the throws for aileron and elevator. Set the travels for the collective channel where they need to be to get the desired pitch range. That should get you headed in the correct direction.

Brian

Build it, fly it, crash it. Repeat as often as needed.

You want answers?
I want the truth!
You can't handle the truth!

I learned a lot today about the Total-G setup with respect to Cyclic and Collective.

So I went home and checked the Collective pitch and Cyclic pitch on the bench to see if that would provide any insight into the maiden flight.
Here are the numbers:

Collective Pitch = 7 deg
Ail & Elev Pitch = 12 deg

No wonder it climbed like it was dragging an anchor behind it!!!

These pitch values were with the TRVL ADJ for all 3 (Pit, Ail, & Elev) set to 90 like I had them for the maiden.

So I bumped up the PIT in TRVL ADJ back to the value of 150 where I am supposed to leave it and the collective is now 12 degrees!

I'm thinking my next flight just might be a bit different!!!

NOTE: As an experiment, I adjusted the AIL & ELEV from 90 to 50 in the radio and checked the cyclic pitch. It did not affect the 12 deg.

CONCLUSION
So the conclusion is that for the cyclic (AIL & ELEV), the TRVL ADJ works as a RATE in the Total-G much like the TRVL ADJ works as a rate for your gyro in a flybared helicopter.

And for the collective PIT, the TRVL ADJ works exactly as it does in a flybared helicopter.

Woo Hooooooooooooooooo.

Now I can sleep much better tonight!

That said, and true, it seems like the TG/ENV needs a lot of collective pitch to "pop". Have you measured your collective range? I'm just under +-13.

For my next flight, I'll be about the same: Approx ± 12.5 Deg.

Woo Hooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

Took her out today with 12.5 degrees of collective. It looks like I traded in my Red Ryder BB gun for a Smith & Wesson .44 Magnum!

Sweeeeeeeeet!

Me happy.
