You want answers?
I want the truth!
You can't handle the truth!
I learned a lot today about the Total-G setup with respect to Cyclic and Collective.
So I went home and checked the Collective pitch and Cyclic pitch on the bench to see if that would provide any insight into the maiden flight.
Here are the numbers:
Collective Pitch = 7 deg
Ail & Elev Pitch = 12 deg
No wonder it climbed like it was dragging an anchor behind it!!!
These pitch values were with the TRVL ADJ for all 3 (Pit, Ail, & Elev) set to 90 like I had them for the maiden.
So I bumped up the PIT in TRVL ADJ back to the value of 150 where I am supposed to leave it and the collective is now 12 degrees!
I'm thinking my next flight just might be a bit different!!! NOTE:
As an experiment, I adjusted the AIL & ELEV from 90 to 50 in the radio and checked the cyclic pitch. It did not
affect the 12 deg.CONCLUSION
So the conclusion is that for the cyclic (AIL & ELEV), the TRVL ADJ works as a RATE in the Total-G much like the TRVL ADJ works as a rate for your gyro in a flybared helicopter.
And for the collective PIT, the TRVL ADJ works exactly as it does in a flybared helicopter.
Now I can sleep much better tonight!
Saturday morning I flew my helicopter in my pajamas
How it got in my pajamas I'll never know
