What setting are you guys using for the swash plate, Do you still use 3 servo 120 deg?? The manual says not to use any mix. Just a little confused here.
Just to clarify this a bit: the manual says "no mixing in the radio"!
Of course, as the HeliCommand will do this for you, you now have to tell it which swash config you are running.

Cheers and have a great NYE :-)

I wish I spoke German...

Do you have a video of this in English?

I just did the setup on mine last night. I'm not sure if everything is perfect but I guess I'm going to try it today

Implementing the save switch

I have the hc3-sx installed and programmed on my logo 5003d. I haven't made the first flight yet due to wind. I'm 98% clear on the setup except the implementation of the save switch. I realize that when in the rigid mode and I believe the horizon mode also that if the cyclic stick is neutralized the heli auto levels. Is the save switch nothing more than a change of gain on the head gyro? In other words, when in normal flight and the save switch is not activated the head gyro gain is low. When the save switch is activated, a higher atv on the head gain channel is activated which adds more gain to the head gyro. That in addition to releasing the cyclic stick initiates the save feature. Tell me where I'm going wrong here. I didn't see much on the save switch setup in the manual.
Thanks

As soon as you activatemthe Horizon mode, no matter which, we are not talking about head gyro gain any more, as this is set fix in the Rigid tab now. We now talk about self leveling options (1 out of 5) and the leveling gain (strength).
For the 'safety switch' option #5 this means that as long as the switch is not flipped, you fly the heli just like any other FBL heli, manually. As soon as you get into trouble flip the switch and let go of ALL sticks. Cyclic will be leveled and collective will be added to let the heli climb.

HAPPY NEW YEAR !!! :-)

Having a blast with my sx on the gasser joachim. I throw the heli in all kind of weird orientations and hit the save switch and let it do the job. fun stuff. Great job on the unit and also the ease of programming!........

Happy new year!

Hello and HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

I'm setting up my HC3-SX on my radikal 30 with the flybar for now and I have a problem that someone may know what i'm doing incorrect in setup.

I have the swash plate moving correctly with the stick movements from the radio and the gyro gain is working from the radio etc..

The problem is when i tilt the heli left or right the swash plate moves the opposite direction to correct the heli BUT when I tilt the heli toward the front or lean it back the swash moves the same way

It should be moving the oppsite way the heli is being tilted even when I switch to horizon mode (self leveling) the light turns green so i know it's activated but the swash plate does not follow the forward or backward of the heli. it also does the same thing in Active Riged stabilisaton Yello-orange light. The unit orientation is setup right but i'm do not know why it's doing this.

Thanks

I assume you will have to check the Diagnose tab again. Are all signal directions in the bars move in the correct direction according to stick movements?
Seconds is that you may plugged the servos wrong?
Third would be that you may have to use the reverse for elevator in the Mixer tab.

Cheers,
Joachim

Is there a way

To make helicommand assume opposite signal for the gyro gear channel?

I'm trying to Y my gv-1 governor on/off switch with the helicommand gear switch for normal/heading hold mode.

Problem is, then gv-1 gets turned OFF when helicommand gyro is in Heading Hold mode.

I want the gv-1 to be off in helicommand normal mode and ON in helicommand Heading Hold mode as seen on the diagnose screen.

Can I reverse how helicommand interprets this signal?

Hi Raja,

I do not beleive there is a way to reverse this in the HC. You could reverse the gear channel in your TX but this would still put the HC and GV-1 out of sequence. If you have an open channel on your receiver you should be able set up a program mix to get what you want.

Why not reverse your gov on-off switch position in the GV-1 SWPt menu? Wouldn't that work like you want it to?

Oh man, thanks a bunch!

Long day at the field, long night in the shop working on this thing with the software and all. I dove into the gv-1 hidden menu looking for a parameter to do this and the option was right in front of me in the standard menu.

I wanted to pull the flybar off for tomorrow's flying, but getting beat already not sure if I'm going to do it.

At least the wiring is right now and I can turn off the gv-1 still to check my mixture when I toggle to normal mode to adjust the rod length.

Thanks Jim -- and thanks Danny for all your support tonight

Hi,

I have managed to bind a Spektrum AR6200 satellite to the HC3-SX and assigned the Channels based on the diagram provided by RobMcQuillen (in the earlier post). Although the servos are working fine, i am unable to get the motor to respond to the throttle control.

According to the Help guide, a PWM signal seems to be needed. Where do i get this PWM signal?

Any ideas anyone?

PS: The motor worked if the HC3-SX is connected to the RX with the regular connecting wires.

Please ignore my earlier post as i have managed to figure out how to activate the motor.

For those interested, the throttle output from the BEC is to be plugged into the HC3-SX throttle output/governor slot!

Looking forward to my first heli flight the coming weekend.

Looking for a system for a scale ship with 5 blade head, what all is involed in set up and tuning? Other than phasing and all? Do I need to adjust things like " hiller decay rate" and other skookum based rocket science?

Hi... Just about to finish setting up my new Hc3. Got a couple questions..

Q1) I understand the in Rigid mode, the gain is controlled via a spare channel assigned on the Tx. The gain can then be set during flight and configured to a value...Is the 50% gain a good starting value for a 450pro? Dun want any nasty surprises during maiden flight?

Q2) I notice in the Diagnose tab that there is a bar showing the "Hor. Channel" signal. I assigned a 2-Way switch to use as bail out switch and activate the Horizontal Mode. When the switch is activated, this bar changes value when I played with the end-points on my assigned switch channel. Is this a kind of gain setting for the horizontal mode? What value should I set this to? Do I set it such that the bar shows 100% when I activate the switch since it is only an ON/OFF?

Thanks for your help

50% should be OK to start with if you are using an FBL head with correct geometery.

Once you change the Aux channel to control the Horizontal mode this controls the gain for the self-leveling. It should be set to 100% as shown in the Diagnose tab.
