I am helping a friend put together his Xl-Pro with a dual tail gear box.
I don't have any plan for this tail slider direction, what I need to know is when I move the tail slide those blade pointing in or out not parellel but opposite each other, Is this how it suppose to be.
And If some one could post a pictures of it, I also like to see difference muffler that mount on with this OS 60 SX...
Thank you guys !

Chris,

I can't get a grip on that second sentence. Please revise it and repost. At hover pitch with no rudder input, one tail rotor is at flat pitch; the other does all the work. The second tail rotor comes in only for maneuvering.

Do your friend a favor. Leave the second hub in the box, let the shaft stick out, and fly it as a conventional unit. The performance gains seen with that tail system went by the wayside when HH gyros appeared. Gear wear was troublesome with the dual tail even before current gyros and servos. I can't imagine how high it would be with a gyro like a 601 driving two tail rotors.

Hi, thanks for the replys. I am the friend that Chris is refering to in this post. I bought the Pro back in 1999 and never finished putting it together. Thanks Chris for helping me out. I will opt for the above advice and use only half of the gear box.

One question though, in the dual tail rotor set-up the pinion on the tail rotor gear box was changed to a different gear that gave it more speed. Can I leave that on there or should I go back to the stock pinion? I'm not sure what I did with it but if I have to I'll buy another one.

Thank you Dr. Ben and David H. I will do as you suggest, do you run 95mm tail blade Vs 85mm on this .
Dr.Ben, I am also playing with his FP-G501, this heli, servos, engine, gyro are all new. They just been sitting there for a long time. Maybe you could give him a hand and inspect my workmanship when you come to the event next month.
