I'm having some trouble mounting my OS 50 in my Raptor 50 V2. The fan cannot be screwed down far enough on the crank to allow any exposed threads for the lock nut. This in turn makes the fan sit higher, which makes the clutch sit higher, which makes the whole engine sit lower and not even fit in the frame. There's something I'm missing but I just don't see it. How did you guys with OS 50s get the fan to screw down?

My fan is black plastic with an aluminum hub.

I've got pictures, not quite sure how to upload them though.

Thank you!

are you sure the crank is exposed up to the bearing?

the engine comes with the insert for props attached.

also remve the washer that is close to the bearing.

What Diego said Reid.

Sounds like you need to remove the engines thrust washer, thrust washer key and the small washer behind it...

be sure to remove the rear cover and jam a toothbrush handle between the case and the crank. that will allow you to grab the fan with a towlel wraped around it and put enough torque to get it to seat fully on the threads.

Great heli and engine!

If you have an airplane test stand might be a good opportunity to break it in gently with an airpplane prop. i ran mine in @ 4000 RPM with a 12x4 for about a gallon. excelent seal. a littel patience for break in pays off.

enjoy!

That was it! Thank you guys! I built my R30 V2 from a kit but because I bought it with the TT engine, the fan was already installed.
Thanks for the help and the good suggestions too!
