Lets see here.

That is the equivalent of about 200 flights of 30% nitro. And you haven't bought the charger yet, either.

I had to make this choice a little while ago. I'm going to wait till it gets a little cheaper.

Yes, but at the end of 200 flights all you have is a bunch of empty plastic jugs......................

And you are just going to get one battery pack for your machine?

So you are going to fly for 30 minutes and then have to recharge for 3 hours, right?

So you buy a second pack to fly it for longer.

There goes another 200 flights on nitro. And then there is the fact that I can buy fuel as I need it. I also am not risking all my fuel everytime I take off (crashing).

Don't get me wrong. I started out on electric stuff. I like electrics. I am just waiting for the prices to drop off some.

Also, if you get 350 flights out of a LiPo pack, you will be an extreme exception.

It is more like 100-125 in our experience (pushing it).

Don't fly electric thinking you will save money; do it because you like it! You will spend lots more $$$'s over time!

I was looking into it for a scale machine.

Electric is great since you don't have to put huge holes on the bottom of the heli.

Forcing air over the batteries, motor and controller is fairly easy to do and it can be fashioned to look scale also.

It is even harder to justify the money when you compare it to a gasser.
