If anybody has set up one of these I could sure use some help. The instructions leave a lot to be desired. Where does the extra servo mount? How does it all wire together. What does the little black box do, and where does it go?

Thnaks

This post only refers to mechanical setup.

I need help with the electrical setup and placement of components.

Thanks anyway.

Yeap

NOw there's a reply I can use. I think I will just use the basic switch. I don't think I need all of the safety features and I really don't want another piece of electronics between all of those channels. Just something else to fail.

Thanks alot for the URL.

If I was you

If I was you .. would have installed a Push button operated by another servo on a seperate channel unless the radio doesn't have enough channels ..

Why?

Why would you want to do that when the unit is supplied with a switch that runs off the radio and does not use a servo?

WOW

Hey, no arguments on my account. I'm not worth it.

My thoughts are. Vario supllied me with nothing on servo location or swithch location. It would seem: and I have a 10x by the way, that just using a free channel to turn the starter on and off would make for an easier if not more reliable setup. If there is a valid reason that it would not, I'm all ears.

I am a very reasonable person and will listen to all input. I am just learning about Vario and scale helis and need all the advise I can get.

I should be ordering my Airwolf later this week or Monday.

The Vario unit is supplied with micro switches, NOT a unit that plugs directly into the Rx.

I am using this unit in two helis and have had no problems. I have used the simplest and most reliable solution. I glued one of the larger micro switches to a servo and use the spring return switch on my ZHP to operate the micro switch. As an extra precaution the servo can not operate the micro switch if I have idle up selected (set by the Tx)

Vario supply more hardware than required so you can fit the micro switches in different ways. They suggest a second micro switch on the throttle servo so you can not start the motor unless the motor is set to idle. I don't use this because if you use the same common sense as you would when using the pull start then you would check all your Tx settings before flicking the start switch!!!!!

Does a servo activate the micro switch? If so where is all of this monted. I am still in the pod and boom stage and want to work all of this out prior to installation.
