$$$$$$$$$

Hi,
From my experience of helicoils, and I do use them a good bit in work, if you have to buy a kit for the cylinder head it will cost you more than a new or second hand cylinder head.
If you fly in a club, ask around to see if anybody else has a written off motor with the same head?

As to thread size, I don't know but can find out if you are stuck?

1/4 32 designated US extra fine. I'm sure they have a metric equivalent but good luck finding helicoils in that size.

The gloplug thread size is 1/4-32. It's kind of an oddball size but you can get it. I had to order one in.

1. Buy a copy of Radio Control Modeler (RCM)

2. Look in the back under mfg's classifieds.

3. Right at the beginning, look for Clarence Lee's ad.

4. Send him your head only, and he'll helicoil it quickly for a modest fee.
