I have a feeling that the stock paddle is a bit heavy. I cannot keep my heli in "Same position" after a half flip. I believe a lighter paddle can improve the flip performance.

Any suggestion on better paddle for 3D?

paddles

Hi

On both my v2 50's I have fitted the X-cell 50 size white 3d paddles, they have the 3 mil paddle hole so the stock flybar fits.

Has improved the roll and flip rate.

give them a try

Cheers

H

with a decent head rpm, round 1800-1900 the standard ones are fine.

Its fine at doing all the normal stuff ie flips, piro flips, death spirals etc

It also leaves the machine very stable, so the low inverted hover gets lower and lower

Ryan.

I have tried the KSJ pink and yellow paddles. They have a fairly high flip rate and roll rate but are way too pitchy in forward flight. I put the stock ones back on and they are great. Like the above post says run the head speed up. I haven't tached my headspeed lately but I am probably up around 1900. It works great.

I have also heard of people shaving just a bit off of the stock paddles to lighten them up.

Jeff

To hover is divine, the alternative is rather PLANE.

MA paddles ROCK

I would like to back choppersrock, He`s absolutely right on the money with the X-cell paddles (White MA paddles).

They are great, nice and smooth and they really improved roll and flip rate

I recently had the same issue. Make sure you have the washout mixing on the outer holes.

Run a higher headspeed

Also with the stock paddles you can thread them onto the flybar nearly all the way.

The manual says to stop when you see the flybar in the window on the paddle, but you can get them about 3/32" closer.

I have yet to do that, so I cant comment on the effectiveness.

Also, you might want to try sceadu paddles with the weights removed.

That is my current plan, at least when I get my gov. sensor working

Anyone else care to comment on the sceadu paddles?

I use the MA white paddles and love them. They flip and roll very nicely.

I use the caliber 30 flybar and caliber paddles, the flybar is 3/4 inch longer and with the weight out of the paddles very responsive and yet stable in a hover.

Thanks for all input.

I have the caliber 30 paddle on hand and may try on my Raptor 50 and see what will happen.

And, I will try to increase the head speed and compare the result. I believe to increase the head speed is the easier way.

I use the MA white paddles also. Even though I am not a radical 3D guy I still like the increased response on the Raptor 50, yet still smooth in hover and FFF. I also use wheel collars to add a small amount of weight and position them for a balanced fly bar. They are a cheep upgrade to try.

If you put skiddy paddles on it you can adjust the weight of the paddles at the field.

If it is windy you can add weight and thus add stability. For all out 3d you can pull all the weight out and flip till your hearts content.

Does anyone have the part number or a good description of the sceadu paddles?

I am looking at heliproz, but I cant tell if I am going to order the right thing.

There is a picture of the freya paddles with what looks like removable weights, are these the same as sceadu paddles?
