lets just say that these new mechanics for the SP5 will be very "FURYiously" 3d capable machines

also, the Crapator, (uhh, i mean the predator) by century flew on the SPS system that Jetcats SP5 is based on (Jetcat bought SPS), except jetcat is using a smaller, lighter, and more powerful turbine ...

Jetcat has been around the block in the turbine jet world, stick with Jetcat and you won't be sorry. Their service is #1, ( I can atest to this personally owning 6 jetcat turbines , and with 2 more on order ) Jetcat = performance, reliability, HONESTY, and service !!!

Hi Elliot............can't wait to see the vids my friend. That system is just what I'm looking for to use in my OH58D winter project. Hoping to make an exhaust system to exit in the scale outlet as well.

by the way, it takes someone pretty a arogant and deceitful to say the Zyclone is a 3d machine. At the 1400 head speed and the weight it is listed at, it will not do 3d any better than a Jetcopter (HP5 powered), and at that, its over $2500 more expensive from the jetcopter (which euns on jetcat power, which is way more reliable and reputable than an piece of crap that the Zyclone run on) you want 3D in the true sense ? run 1800 + head speed !!!

As for the HP5s, all of mine are being retired into scale fuselages (SB-90, EC-135, Bell 230), and I'm waiting for the SP5 for my 3d Pod/boom setup ..

jet cat???

some people should really just come on to these sites and remain silent unless they have something nice to say.
you talk about a the new PJW system like you know all about it, yet you admit that you supposedly only owne a couple of jet cats, (wich are nice systems), but as you said, they have been around the block...
i guess since the old O.S 61'S AND Y.S. 61'S have been around the block, you think they are a better choice than the new 91's???
sometimes its out with the old and in with the new.
and some people who refuse to give something new a chance, just get left out with the old....
really man
why would someone make a completey new engine that doesnt outshine the stuff thats been around
THINK ABOUT IT

Lets clear a few things up here

The PJ-W is not new, it has been around a long time. It has been designed specifically to go into helicopters and sales in Europe have been so good, the manufacturer has not felt the need to sell into the US. Now the engine has been approved by the AMA, two distributors/service centers have been appointed. so any claims of exclusivity are total BS. The manufacturer does not make the frames for the engine and the old supply has dried up. Elliot and Len Mount are starting to make their own frames and each will sell their own product, Elliot via Sandy in the East and Len via Al Wert in the West. Despite Elliots claims to the contrary, neither will be any better than the other. As a matter of interest, in Europe, the PJ-W-R is becoming the engine of choice in scale applications, especially in the giant 3M scale area, where even Vario uses them.

The Jetcat HP5 in its standard form is barely capable of a loop or roll. It'll do them, but its scary. In the uprated form to 1400 rpm both the Jetcat and PJ-W are equally capable performers, but 3D? I agree with Wojtek, no way. Its all more BS. That is unles you consider a loop 3D. Both helis will loop and roll and fly around inverted etc, but thats not 3D.

My SPS turbine in a Cuattro is getting more like a 3D machine. With a head speed of 1650 this thing will do flips etc and is far more capable than I am at 3D but the heli is set up for smooth scale flying, not radical acrobatics.. Bob Johnston really tortures his doing flips and funnels and death spirals etc.

So when the SP5 comes out, in a purpose designed airframe from MA or the like, then we will have a 3D turbine, and not until.Thats the way of the future.

Turbine 3D

Ok the HP5/ Jetcopter with the gear upgrade 1400 rpm's will perform basic aerobatics with out any problems! I can perform with ease consecutive rolls, loops, stall turns 180 and 270, immelman turns, 1/2 Cuban 8's, split s, inverted flight, funnels, Avalanche's, auto's and backward loops.

At this point I am pushing the jetcopter to its limits with the 1400 head speed; to some these maneuvers may be considered 3D light! Or near 3D (beer reference) but they are far from what is considered true 3D.

I would love to see video of the zyclone in action if there are any available performing true 3D maneuvers........

some people should really just come on to these sites and remain silent unless they have something nice to say.
Screw that dude I don't like smoke being blown up my ass by any vender or manufacturer... let the vender/manufacturer backup there claims if they can't then we will call then to task............
I guess since the old O.S 61'S AND Y.S. 61'S have been around the block, you think they are a better choice than the new 91's???
Dude listen to what you are saying, you are comparing products from the same company ( OS 60 - 91, YS 60, 80 ,90).
If K&B said they had a 91 engine that out performed an OS91 but gave no data to prove it will you take that on face value? I think NOT!

If a company makes claims to better performance and maintenance and charged 2,500.00 more for that product it better knock my socks off with said claims and have data or video to back it up!

Enough said!

Sounds like always the same story ......OS v's YS ..... FUTABA v's JR....AMT v's Jet CAT ...etc
Just be objectif with your need and take the advantage of each syteme , we are lucky enough to have the CHOICE !
As exemple what actual other mechanic can be scale mount on a HUEY a COBRA or a LAMA ....well I won't hesitate to go Elliot or len's mount for that aplication , the sleek like design of their mechanics is what I need !
Regarding 3D well we all seams to be agree that Turbine heli are not the actual best choice for 3 D application .....why ? well let's just compare the ratio weight to power of a Fury Extreme with an Ys 90 , with the same ratio of a turbine heli ....no compare !
When a manufacturer will be able to equal that ratio with the same head speed caracteristic he will probably be able ,after the product have been used so to call it a 3D heli ....I don't know what you think guy's but it sounds to me that it will be the first one that will bring a 3 D heli on the table , and this will deserve us a way or an other , we will may have soon a more democratic price with some better flying machine... what can we dream off

FURYiously turbine

O.K. every one I hate to burst your bubble but I can tell you for a fact that the Florida based company is (NOT) working on a turbine fury at this time. The company is to busy working on the new gasser and electric heli. So lets get the story correct and stop spreading the rumors.

Turbine Power

That florida based company at all cost will deny any idea of a turbine machine, but there is knowladge of there interest or intent on a design to come out at a later date. Do you think Dodge gave out any information on the viper when it was in the design phase?

we all will see what comes out from them after the fury gas/ electric. If you are looking for power to weight then it is turbine all the way with the SPS unit they are producing 10 HP @ 2000 rpm's at the head which is 3 times the power of the OS 91 c spec or the YS 91 and only twice the weight with 80 oz of kero.

you have 2 options dude,

1. get some counseling and face your denial (and insecurities about your "size")

or

2. get your self some vicadin (a lot of it) and we'll see you in a few

RedBob,

why dont you truly identify who you claim to be

Hmmmmm , who out there keeps creating new ID's over and over again to hide their identity ?

i do't know , i might be wrong here .... but i have my doubts about that ...

these forums are getting old, more and more of arguing and banter (of which i am as guilty as everyone else ) ... i think i will go back to my "barn yard porn" websites and forums for a while ...... then i will go out and try to find a sheep farm somewhere to hover my heli over .....
