Hi,
Step by step:
1) upright FF right to left and then pull up into a half loop.
2) maintain tail stand at the top part of the half loop
3) do a piro at the top with the heli vertical, skid pointing left and rotor head pointing right
4)exit the piro with the head pointing down
5) as the heli descend, input forward elevator and negative collective pitch, making the heli loop into inverted forward flight
6) as the heli continues the inverted flight, input more forward elevator, putting the heli into a loop again.
7) repeats from step 2 onwards......

Any name for this move?

Stall turn with a twist. (hopefully not on the rocks)

PS: Oops, just re-read it and there's not a twist. ah well, there's a new one for ya.

It's not really a stall turn because the climb is sort of curvy, like a half loop except that at the highest point, you keep the heli vertical(like a tail stand).

Double, stall and turn as suggested by panos seems good. But not close.

This is not a new move, I have seen it on video. But I can't just remember who did that.

Haha...maybe I just modified abit and give it a name.

How about "Double insideout loop with piro turn"? But kind of old fashion, like those F3C name.

Wanted a more sexy one, like funnel, tic-toc, chaos, tumble.......
any more suggestion?

I've been working on the very same thing. Is it an async loop? That's what I'm calling it for now....Half loop...180 piro....full outside loop....180 piro.....half inside loop and exit to forward flight or continue the loop and piro sequence. I think I seen a video of Sluggo removing a crown gear and a vertical fin on his Milli doing this maneuver with LOW exits.

No, not an async. Async is a complete loop, but with a big half flip. Lets say you come in upright forward, you'd pull up across the top with the disk vertical, fall tail down, exiting inverted backward.

The maneuver you describe is similar to the rolling stall turn from the FAI Schedule A, but without the roll. Some call them Us [or Ws] because the helicopter flies up, stall, then down, up, then stall... in the shape of a series of UUUUUUUs. I guess these would be a half-pirouetting Us.

Hmmm, still missing on the description. Hey Travis if we don't work out a description by Brooks let me know I'll show you what we're talking about......The heli flys through a loop but a piro is put in on the top of the loop. If you picture a stall turn entry but stay in the positive collective and let off the aft cyclic (up elevator) when the disc is vertical, at the top of the loop 180 piro do an outside loop from the top but let off the forward cyclic when the disc is virtical going up, piro at the top again and exit up right forward. It's kinda like a stall turn with a pull back recovery, but my goal while doing it is to make a round loop without the straight line vertical of a stall turn.

Is this what you were describing yapjy?

Yes, that is a priouetting async loop. Just the same as what I described, except you throw a piro into the mix. I couldn't figure out for the life of me what yapjy was describing, but now that I go back and read it...

Here is a link to a video of Russ doing them without the piro, and here is one of Remi doing them with the piro

vitek, the videos show exactly what I described.
So it's called a priouetting async loop.

Cool. I'm working on it with my simulator.
