I have a new 8103 with digital servos and JR Rx. Tx battery and Rx batteries are charged. All connections seem to be correct. Turning Rx switch to 'on' gets no reaction from servos. The only indication of power is the red LED on the GY401 blinking. No servo reaction to Tx being turned on either. Hope it's something simple....first heli.

Lets start with the most obvious first......

Is the receiver a PPM ( FM ) or PCM type ?

Is the transmitter set to the same mode ??

Have you got your crystals in? You won't get a response from the digi's if there's not one in, or make sure they're on the same freq.

PCM FM Tx and Rx. Shouldn't there be some servo reaction when it is turned on no matter which type? Just going by plank experience...

With your average servos, yes, but without a crystal the digital servos won't even buzz. Try a different, non-digital servo and see if that will repsond, if so then you can narrow down the problems. Have you made sure that your Tx is in the correct Pcm mode?

Did you setup the heli version

Like Mac_man says you might need to setup where it's S-PCM, Z-PCM or PPM (fm) in the system setup mode for each model heli.

Look at page 69 in the 8103 manual for assistance.

I've run into this problem before because I have both fm and pcm receivers.

I just set the Tx to S-PCM per the manual for my Rx. Still nothing. Dang it.

What receiver are you using? Ok, I know this is a stupid thing to check again, but are the servos plugged in the right way? If your Xtals are fine, your in the right PCM mode and your plugged in right then I'm stumped.

Well, after setting the correct modulation I forgot I had removed the battery and put it back on the charger....the modulation setting was the culprit. Works beautiful, thanks guys!

Setting up my New JR Voyager....been in the making for over a year! Just completed installing the servos and linkages, and turned on the TX/RX....and nothing. Went to RR after numerous checks. Long story short......Low and behold Shufly described the exact same problem I had. I did check the modulation per manual....but that's where the manual fails as it reads for the experienced, or for those familiar with their system. antway set it to S-PCM and all is fine now!
