I am looking to get a new raptor 50v2 as my second heli, i currently have a little century hawk, and i would like to know what you all think is the better motor. Heliproz seems to have good deals on both kits but is the OS really worth the extra 100+ dollars?

Thanks for the input

If you want the extra power go for the OS50 wiith a govenor, but i have seen a few TT 50's running and they really do run just as sweet, but not as powerfull.

To me, it would be worth the extra.

Ryan.

Well, I have only had one TT .50 and it ran fine for about a gallon then I started having tons of trouble. I just sent it in to Ace for the SECOND time, and Im hoping to get my money back to get an OS .50, or at least a new TT .50 engine that runs.

It ran awesome and had plenty of power for the first 8 tanks or so, then the head and the muffler popped loose and I now I can't get the head to stay on if I manage to get the engine to run.

I like the TT - I had an OS50 and the dumb thing never, ever, ever ran right! Something was wrong with the carb - cleaned it and did everything I could think of - still didn't run. I haven't ran the 50 yet - but I have a .39 and I love it, also a friend is running the 50 and after a rare initial glitch (Which received prompt service from Ace was running great and seemed to me to be just as powerful as the OS (when it ran!)

Either way both engines are good but I had a bad experience with the OS. I don't think it's worth the extra!

tt50 or 0s 50

It all depends, the tt 50 if setup correctly will be worth gettin and in the mean time you will save yourself 100 bucks, but if u cant be bothered 2 fiddle about with needle settings then just spend the extra 100 bucks and get an os.

I have a tt 50 in my raptor 50 v2, it runs just as sweet as my friends os 50, but he had 2 go through a lot more setting up to get my tt50 running as good as his Os, but once setup runs just as good, also the tt50 doesnt drink as much fuel as the Os does.

the choice is yours.

gud luck.

Most of the problem of TT50, I believe, is due to inproper adjustment. I am running my second TT50, and both are fine. OS, if not doing right, also generates problems, a local flier just dump his OS50 after few months of running it due to wrong adjustment.

I have a TT50 in my 50 V2 and it runs sweet. It was a breeze to tune from the start and is great on fuel.

I run the head at 1750 and it has plenty of power for all but expert 3D'ers and I'm sure they wouldn't have many complaints.

Over 60 flights and running strong.

Save the money for fuel.....

TT50. I've seen both run, and if you know how to tune an engine, the tt is definately a bargain. Mine ran strong and long! 16mins on a r50v2 with tons of power.

Nothing is ever so bad that it can't get worse

What? an extra 100 bucks?????

I don`t think price is the issue here:

TT50 >>> $107

OS50 >>> $135

That are the current prices from Heli-kraft.com, so you should look at performance (wether you need it or not) and fuel consumption.

just my 0.02 cents

Price of the engine is not the issue, fuel consumption is the real issue. TT50 can run 20%-40% longer than OS50, think about how much money you can save!

Besides, it is not that TT50 is not powerful, it is just that TT50 is not as powerful as OS50, but it has enough power for you to do many aggresive 3Ds.
