I purchased a Fury 60 Expert last year from Rick's RC in Corpus Christi and am still assembling it as I have time. I have found yet another part that needs to be finished. The part is tail rotor gear part # 427-1. It had not been tapped. Last time it was the Lower bearing assembly that wasn't finished. Was this a chronic problem?

I tried e-mailing Miniature Air but their e-mail at minair@aol.com seems to be non-existent now. Do they have a new e-mail address?

I'm hesitant on sending the part back to MinAir because it took about 3 weeks to get the previous part back from them. They didn't read my explanation fully so they didn't do anything or contact me for further information. My first experience with MinAir so far has not been the best. Hope this is just a fluke.

Call them on the phone with your kit number handy and they will send you another gear today. I had several missing parts in my kit and this worked for me.

Unfinished parts

While I know this is frustrating, please understand that Miniature does not manufacture the gears (and most other parts), they get them from a separate vendor(s), and it's VERY hard to visually inspect every part that gets packed so that no bad ones ever get through. Just imagine sitting at a table inspecting 1000 gears from a bag............ I'd be cross eyed in 15 minutes.

Yeah but that is what you pay the price of the kit for.
I would expect every part in a MinAir kit to be inspected.

Thanks for the replies guys.
Out of frustration while in Wichita today I bought a 3mm tap set and tapped the gear out myself. I will still email MinAir about the problem and see what they say.

I have had several models including Robbe, TSK, Kyosho, and now MinAir and all have had some kind of glitch in their kits, be it quality, parts missing, defective parts, unfinished parts or overstated claims. I guess I am getting used to it. Just wish like Georg said, the money we pay should reflect a better quality controlled product. I know if any of us bought a new television of stereo we would not take it so lightly when something is not right.

Out of the few people I have met, they love their Furys. Hope I will be one of those people too.
