I just bought my first 80 and would like to know within what temperature range I should be operating. Also, if any YS 80 veterans have any tips or advice to offer concerning this engine I would very much appreciate some input!

Engine temp readings can be tricky - a lot depends on the sensor placement. My venom sensor is just under the head away from the fan air and away from the exhaust side.

I have my needle settings on my YS 80 around what many people have stated on this forum. Engine runs very well with plenty of power and nice and steady.

I am getting max temp readings on my YS 80 in a Fury Extreme (8.45 gear ratio) at about 85 degrees Celsius which is 185 F at a headspeed of 1650.

Idle temp is about 55 to 60 degrees C.
