Just wondering how good of a radio this would be for someone who has never really setup a heli before but has some but little help? I doubt I could swing for the 8103 because I'm only a teen. I'm thinking about using it for a Sceadu EVO 50. I plan on doing some 3d using the radio and the Sceadu.

Its a great radio, setup is simple with the features needed to get you going. I'm Using it on two EVO's with the gear switch used for the gyro HH/Norm modes. Upgrade the servos though with DS811's.

The X378 is an super transmitter. Great feel, great sticks too. It has CCPM mixing in it that can be turned on for use by sending it to Horizon or by getting that particular info from someone who knows how to do it.

Don't they have CCPM mixing as a standard setup without the need to send it to Horizon?

Yes swashplate options are:

1 servo Non-CCPM, standard mixing
2 servo/180 CCPM
3 servo/120 CCPM
3 servo/90 CCPM

Thanks for the info Heliroach.
Why then some people have to send their radio to Horizon?
That's good to hear that it can handle 90 and 180 ccpm.
Also can you tell me if x378 doesn't have certain function that you need to fly your heli?

Out of the box it does CCPM under the swashplate options.

It has all the functions needed to get you started. It could use one more Aux switch if you ever wanted to use a governor although you could use the flight mode switch for the Gyro and the gear switch for the GV-1 but this isn't the best setup for me and since I don't use a GV-1 I have no problems with it.

Here's a link to the manual that should help you. The radios a breeze to setup.

i've had my x-378 for about 6 months now and i love it. a nice big clear display with the digital trim positions clearly marked. nice ergonomic feel and high quality switches. a solid foundation for any beginner or veteran to start with.
