I just received the new spirit canopy set for the Eolo. I installed it right away. The Robbe site is true. It does give the Eolo a more powerful grown up look. The extra tail wing also gives it a nice touch.

It's also a lot bigger so visibility must improve a lot. It also covers a greater part of the battery.

I will take some pictures soon and post them on RR.

I bought mine in the Netherlands but you can find the Spirit set on http://www.rchover.com

Laddy,

Nice paintjob. Did you paint it from the outside or the inside?

Jeremy, can you tell me exactly where you put the cooling holes in the canopy??

I painted it on the outside. looked to hard to do the inside. I used Parma Neons and used Automotive clear on the outside.

I painted the original canopy from the inside. A friend of mine told me it was better to paint it from the outside. To prevent scratches and other damage i think i'm going to try it from the inside.

I will just paint it plain white. Later on i can paint it again on the outside to get another painting scheme.

laddy,
I don't have a pic but I'll try to discribe it to you:
I just took 5/8"- 3/4" circle templet and marked on the wind sheild on center about 5-6 holes equally spaced from the top of the wind sheild to the bottom , and then dremeled it out with a small drum sander.
I also put 2 more holes on the top side.

Jeremy,

Thanks for your advice. I'll get right into it.

I'll post some pics after it's finished.

I have uploaded some new pictures of Laddy's Eolo to my web site here

http://www.geocities.com/jerrysimon...eo_pictures.htm

I need to catch up and add more stuff to the site really (the links page needs more work) as I know a couple more of you have said I can put your pictures up as well.

It's obviously drawing some attention as I have had nearly 800 viewings since I put it up in July. I also get a steady stream of emails each week with people encouraging me and asking questions

Regards

jerry,

Your site is the only one at this moment with some good start-up information. It sure would be nice if all the Eolo owners would make a pic of their bird so you can create a nice gallery. I will send you a pic of my Eolo after i finish the paintjob on my "Spirit".
