The 757 and 758 both work on the 401 and run in digital mode.

The 357 is an analog servo and can't run in digital mode but will work as well.

Do you know if the 758 hold as well as the 9253, I believe the 758 is what Alan Szabo is using.

True Raymond, but if they last longer than a year then its well worth it, look at the price of the replacement gear for the 94357Z:

Over a Cnote doesn't bother me if the
stupid thing lasts and if the mfgr doesn't
just say 'sorry, not fixable' to every single
problem.

And isn't it odd that of Futaba, JR and
Airtron. (and even Hitec), it's the Futaba
metal gear sets that are usuallly in the
$65 range whereas everyone else can
retail them for $20ish

That 94758Z has some very nice specs, looks even better than 9253, and has plenty of torque. I may get one, and give it a try!!! Daz...

I was also curious if the 94758 could handle the communication rate of the GY401 in digital mode. I'm glad to read that some have used it with success. I sent an email to CSM asking if I could use the 94758 with the CSM560 in Super Servo Mode. Their response was yes..that's what Alan Szabo uses. They may have been blowing smoke on A. Szabo issue, but it is some evidence that the 94758 can handle high data rates. I wonder how communication rates of the GY401 in DS Mode and the CSM560 in Super Servo Mode compare? BTW, it's my understanding that the FUT9251 used with the 601 has metal gears (expensive ones at that). So, that shouldn't be an issue.

Mr Magoo

I asked Alan today which servo does he uses for his 401, and he said he use to use the 94757, but just upgraded to the 94758. So I would think if its good enough for him, its great for me!!!

I went to a 94757z last year on the Xcell gasser.. no slack in the metal gears...This says something on the gassers. It has been trouble free, and has the grip of Bill Clinton with the 401 the 758 is probally even better...

See the notes attached to the 757 and 758 about frame rates. I was talking to Brian Tucker, an Airtronics customer service rep, at fun-fly last year and he said they would work with the Futaba gyros.

However, I haven't had a servo fail yet so I haven't needed to try it.

Since the s9253 can't handle 6V.. can this airtronic servo handles 6v? gets more torque out of it..

Thats right Naomi!!

It handles 6 volts, and 4.8 volts has plenty of torque 70oz at 4.8volts, the only thing that concerns me about the 94758Z is the fact it doesnt show a replacement gear set. The 94757Z shows the gearset replacement, and cost only $15, and they are MG.

Daz,
You shouldn't have any concern about metal gear issue, my benzin originally was using a Hitec 925MG lots of torque but non digital, works great, I don't have any issue with metail tail rotor servo. to top it off, I fly FM as well

I dont have any problems with MG servos, I'm using Futaba 9204 servos for my collective on both my heli's with 0 problems. I'm just concerned they dont show any replacement gearsets for the 94758Z servo, certainly I will need replacement gearsets down the road.
