Hi,

I own a logo 10 with the following config :

Kontronik Fun 600-17, Kontronic Beat 6-18-40 ,14th pinion and 12 cells NI-CD 2400 ma...

I would like to switch to 550 mm baldes... I know i have to change the tail boom, but do i have to change the motor to do that or just the battery pack?

Thx

the longer blades will apply more load to the motor, so a change in either motor, or pinion gear is advisable (probably a necessity). Since you're allready at a 14T pinion, there's only one smaller (13T), so change to it first. Check the temperature of the motor and ESC, and the current to see that all is well before wringing it out. I would be amazed if the current doesn't shoot WAY up and the temps get totally out of hand , but it just might work, who knows without trying. A lower KV motor is the next item to use, either a fun600-15 if you want to stay kontronics, or something in the 15L~17L range from hacker would be my guess, but I'd have to check all the numbers to get more specific (KV, gearing,..etc.)

Gary,
I just purchased BFV's Logo 10 and was thinking about the same mod. He is including the long boom conversion so I've got that covered. The setup is a B50-15L and a Schultze 18.46K. Also keep in mind that I fly in "thin" air at about 5800' ASL.

Do you think I could safely do this conversion? Any suggestions on what pinion would be appropriate? Cell count? The heli is coming with two 14-cell packs.

Thank you,
John Kos

I was thinking about running 550s, since they are much more easily available... So aside from changing the motor, could I also run less pitch to compensate for the larger blades?
