Next year when the Raptor 90 is around, we can all talk about it's performance. Right now, trying to speculate about it is nothing but high expectations of its release.

the raptor 90 is merely the 60 with the 90 kit or a 60+90kit+lotsa TT upgrades...

no speculation is required as they are already available just at a much higher price...

50 v.s. 60

Matthew,

since you already have a Raptor 30 with TT39, I think your next heli MUST be a 60. The R50 s a great machine, but too close to the 30 you are flying. Not worth it IMO. I'd say if you want more power on a budget, upgrade your 30 to a 50. If you have more cash to spend, then enjoy and get a machine that is a good deal better than the 30.

Getting a R60 now is somewhat future proof, you can always updrade it to a 90 later on.
I am not trying to compare 50 and 60, just thinking what would be most enjoyable in your case.

Good luck with any heli you decide to go with.

Have any of you made the modification to the toque tube and put an extra barring in. And if so has it made any difference in the heli's performance. Also are the upgraded head blocks that heli proz sells worth it. They are only 38 bucks. But do they make a difference?

I fitted Helihuts alloy bearing blocks top and bottom. Can't afford not to at that price, but I did swap out the bearing they came with for some precision bearings from smb (http://www.smb-bearings.co.uk/).

The blades take twice as long to spool down compared to the stock TT bearings that come with the R60 kit and I feel that the heli is smoother now, so imo a worthwhile upgrade.
