Would you have any idea how old the Magnum fuel would be?

It was fresh,we bought it by the drum and emptied the drum at one time into jugs that members had saved up.Basicly the bearing wore out and got ruff, there was no rust on the bearings.

Hi koppter.....

I'm not here 4 two days if U R gettin me right....

I was closing the neddle click at the time and feeling the difference...
after somthing like 4-6 clicks the power was getting close
to the power I used to get from the CP fuel.

the only problem was: The engine was extremly hot, not the way it
should be....

anyway, I'm gonna give that Magnum fuel one more try and I'll try to
adust the neddels with a thermometer...

P.S...
for those who asked....
yeah, the engine is brand new and had been broke-in by 7 tanks
of cp30%.

Thx

Hi again.....

I just want you 2 know that after allot of ajustments, the engine
is working fine with the Magnum fuel.

yeah, the Magnum gives you a hard time during the ajustments,
but as you already know the price is much cheapper than the CP
and the engine is working just fine...

Thx for your time Dudes...;-)

I've always run the wildcat/CY %30 and was happy with it. Got a 700N/YS and started running CP on it, and after running out of CY %30 I ran CP on my 600.

I really like the CP, it runs cooler, and the engines just sound so smooth and happy. For me its CP from now on, yeah it costs a bit more but for me it runs much better

As for cost better consistancy mag is the way to go, I now have almost 6 gal of mag DS threw my new YS 56 and she is running just as she did new and have never touched the needles. No major rust and bearings are great.
Sorry but bearing go bad due to lean runs and out of balanced issues with heli and motor.
Anyone saying is fuel is an idot in my opinion.
Every issue that can take place with one heli to another or pilot to pilot or one motor to another and then blame fuel is crazy.
Simple science, if bearings are going bad due to fuel you would need to say to yourselves wouldn't sleeves, piston, rings go bad before STEEL bearings went bad.
That is why is say your crazy to say fuel is the cause for bad bearings.
Now if you where to say the fuel didn't give you the power from one type to the other you would have a point.
Out of balance issues and run leans are the cause but lean runs will also damage sleeves and pistons.

One last thing I ran CP for over 10 years I feel the power is a little higher with MAG and motors look the exact same from CP to MAG.
Best part and this is the top of the line for most heli polite is the way lower cost of MAG.

I've had bearings wear out fast on Magnum DS last year too. I hear they changed the oil package since then though so probably fixed.

I very much believe that fuel or more specifically the oil packages can lead to bearing issues. Probably wouldn't have before I ran into a string of issues last year, then once switching fuels I was golden again. Plenty of people running Magnum fine though, so I think it probably is just a combination of things, but for me, it was definately the fuel. No issues with several other brands since switching now.
