Storm43, you never gave us much info on your heli or setup, but if your throttle channel is reversed, the governor must be reversed also.
This is what worked for me.... I'm running a 8FG, R617 receiver, RCE-6600 governor.

I need more lift!

I am using the 7ch setup - so I went in to the Reverse menu and looked at my servos - my throttle servo was reversed, so I changed my Gov channel (channel 7 for me) to reversed.

Now my SE switch gives me Normal, Idle1, Idle2 and the light on the governor is Red for Normal, Green for Idle1 and Green for Idle2.

Flew it around and it works perfect.

In the governor menu make sure that you have

Normal ON
unit %
Rate 0.0

Idleup1 ON
unit %
Rate (mine's 83%)

Idleup2 ON
unit %
Rate (mine's 90%)

I need more lift!

Thanks for your reply

My gov menu is not as yours..8FG is more complicated.. I dont know why futaba is complicating things if in previous models like 10CP(TX) was simple as yours.. I have written to them for my problem assigning the SC switch but because I am not in US they didnt answer.. I cant find a european site to write to...

I will try until I find it...
Thanks

Go back and do what I and drb99 recommended to you before and it should work. Obviously you can't have the governor INHIBITED like you did before though. Use the flight mode switch (SE for mode 2 TX) and CH7 for the gain/rate. Both throttle and governor channels must be reversed.
In the governor menu make sure that you have

Normal ON

Idleup1 ON

OK I will try this soon.. Can you check something for me to your set-up?? If you give normal a percentage of 83%, will it work on normal mode also???

Thanks

Evening all,

I have just finished building my 600N (my first nitro heli) and I`m stuck on the governor setup up.
I have read through this thread a number of times and I`m still struggling to get the governor working properly.

The closest I got to it working was a green light in normal model and red in idleup1 and red indleup2. I tried reversing channel 8 ( I have tried both channel 7 and 8) and I just ended up with a red light for all settings then.

I`m comfused as to what setting I should use for the T8FG should I use the governor menu or should I use the endpoint? I have read about putting the endpoint to negative but on the T8FG I can only go from 30 to 100 on the endpoint value.

Completely lost at the moment so any help would be much appreciated. Surely the unit is only designed to be setup in one correct way?

Thanks

helloooooo

The only way I could get this to work was by setting up a prog mix of Gov to Gov and set the switch down position to -100.
Now I get normal = red, idleup1 = green and idleup2 = green.

Is this correct? I noticed on hear people are using the T8FG and it has worked but I`m struggling to see the correct method through all these posts.

When setup using Gov and channel 7 does the values in the governor menu control the governor or do the endpoints control the governor?

In the governor menu if I take the % below 50 the light goes from green to red and then I have to take it back up to over 65 to get the green light to come back on.

This all seems far to complicated to be correct....any help please???

It's simple. Set servos for throttle and governor (CH7) channels to Reverse. Calibrate the Align Gov to the throttle stick and your done. Make sure you have retirned the endpoints back the factory defaults and no mixing before starting.

Hi,

Thanks for your reply. I thought I would try your method as I`m not convinced the way I have done it is correct.

I INH my mix, checked there were no mixes or endpoints on. I set both the throttle and GOV (channel 7) to reverse. Switched the model on, the governor light was red. I held the button down on the governor, LED went out, moved throttle stick to full and LED went red and remained red no matter what the governor menu was set to.

Maybe you had the magnet under the sensor. You could also still have something set wrong/not standard other than the Servo Reverse on TH and Gov. Did you ACTivate (un-INHibit) the Gyro and set the rates yet (manual page 119)? Try it again, it does work.

Also, make sure you adhere to this bold note in the manual on page 119.
Note: Always set (Control) and (Trim) to [--]
for [Governor] of the Function menu of the
Linkage menu.

Hi,

Its not the magnets as the fan is not fitted at the moment.

I removed my mix, reversed the throttle and gov and checked no switch was assigned to the GOV. In the governor menu I set the governor to be activated by a switch.

I have attached some pics of the menu. I still have only a red LED on the governor.

In the Governor menu I have #1 as off, #2 at 80% and #3 at 90%

Thanks

It appears you are using CH7 Gov. Your last picture shows that you are using Switch C to activate the Gov but the RPM/Rate is set to OFF. Have you tried using Condition to activate it? Set a different RPM/Rate for each condition.

Controlled by Rate.

I tried using Condition and varied the rate from 0 - 100% in different stages for different idleup positions (using SE) and the LED remained red throughout all my trials.

However, I did manage to get the LED to go green by setting the throttle and gov back to normal from REV and then switch the rate to OFF.

only in the OFF position with the gov and throttle in normal would the light go green. It does appear that everything seems to be operating in reverse.

Thanks for helping me out on this
