The winner of that contest was the most awesome thing that I have ever seen. How he got his bird down without any lights was amazing.

well he was flying with no lights to begin with, rather with a couple spotlights shone on the bird...he went waaay up and the spotlight lost it and he lost the heli...5-10 seconds of random blade farts later they relocated it and continued the flight....AWESOME

We weren't close to the main flying area, so we couldn't hear what the announcer kept saying! It sounded like "red rum red rum", but we could see rainbow spaceman!!! It was pretty cool!!

This was my first IRCHA, the hubby's 2nd... and the night fly is what will bring me back next year!

I am sure that Mark will have it on here in a couple of days. My buddy and I launched his para plane and entertained the crowd for a while. I hope that it shows up some where in the videos.

I would like to see the IRCHA organization introduce minimum onboard lighting requirements for night flights.

If you lose sight of your model for " 5 - 10secs " then you are a serious safety hazard to yourself and everyone in attendance.

Rules should be established before someone gets seriously injured.

How about going back to the days when we first started night flying? 2 high intenstity led's on the end of the blades (we made our own, I still have my Jim Roberston night blades) 2 green celume light sticks on the landing gear and 1 red on on the vertical fin.

The rainbow spacemans nightfly was "ok" but the making fun of the suit I guess spiced it up for sure, but the fast chanting of the rainbow spaceman got abit old after about the hundredth time, lol.

That was Nico yes, it was a spectacular flight for sure!
