Not much been said about the TREX700E on the forums... I'm considering getting one, as I already have all the PS/Charger/LiPos because I already fly a Century Swift 620SE (6S 5000mAH, like a TREX600ESP), I find it could be fun to try this big/powerfull machine and no so expensive for someone who already has the expensive "power" accessories...

I've looked around and it looks like they're really trying to push the FBL version (most interisting combos are FBL versions), for example at flying hobby.

So some questions :

- From what I see whatever combo there's is no ESC included. Why is this? What ESC to choose?

- What's the feedback from people flying it? What are the flight times? Reliability? Power? Parts supply? Is the building straighfoward (no hassle)? Parts quality?

Align arent particularly good with their escs, and have no experience with HV escs, hence it is a welcome relief they didnt include one with their 700E combo. You'd be better off with reputable esc like castle HV or kontronik HV.

Their seems to be a problem with the 700M motors, seizing mid flight and sometimes causing a crash if unable to auto successfully. Hence they have recently released their new 700MX motor. You might want to wait for their new kits instead.

The 700e is very well designed and has few problems so I does not get discussed that much.

Castle Creations has just came out with the ICE 120 HV especially for 700 size helicopters.

The only possible problem is motor bearings. It would be good if you upgrade the motor will Boca ceramic sealed bearings. There is another thread that has the part number and link.

700e
Have to agree with Ben
Go to bertrc.com check out his setup w/ HV85 thing is awesome, I would go with the 120HV if collective management isn't very good. I run HV 85 and have no problems a all.

700E is a nice machine. For some reason not a lot of traffic here as other places.
Anyway..
Yes you need an ESC. Ice 80HV, 120HV, or Jive 80HV or 120HV.
If you use the Jive you do not need a separate power source for electronics. For Ice some choose 2S Lipo with good BEC, Western Robitic, some have luck with CCBEC Pro but can not recommend that one.

3G works very well on this bird. and just a few issues abound.
Gear Stripping - KDE Motor Mount and Gear helps here, Align also just released a new gear.

I definitely want a BEC, I don't really understand why anyone messes around with a separate power source for the RX, it's just additional weight, additional electronics, additional thing to charge before flying, so additional chances of failure... that's just my point of view.

So I guess I'd have to go for Jive 80HV or 120HV.

There's no hurry, so I'll check that the kit I get has the new 700MX Motor. And while I'll be shopping I'll see if I can find KDE Motor Mount and Gear.

Question, why would anyone get this :

http://www.flying-hobby.com/shop/in...roducts_id=6215

instead of this :

http://www.flying-hobby.com/shop/in...roducts_id=6377

???

From what I can see they are both the same price and the same content except the second has 2*66500mAH LiPo added ! I have to wait because both have the 700M though.

Is there a trick here?

actually on the 700e a seperate RX battery isn't a bad idea. they are pretty tail heavy for most people.

personally im going to run a LiFe 6.6v straight no regulator.

i personally don't like the idea of trusting a small piece of silicon to hold back 50 volts from deep frying your electronics.

thats my .02

Who cares... its just money...

guess i'm lucky, i'm using the Align ESC on (2) 450's, a 500 and a 600. never had a problem at all with the Align ESC..you just can't beat the slow start the Align ESC offers !!! programming is also simple

nothing to it but to do it

Harvey, the trick with the flying hobby prices are that if they sell an Align combo they have to price it at a certain pont. If they change that combo in any way then the contract does not apply anf they can price it as they want.
