Can anyone explain what is going on here? The largest helicopter event of the year and MRC/Hirobo is not represented. Are things that tough for them in these hard econonic times? Comments please!

as stated in the other thread... many people are feeling the effects of the economy... ron lund wasnt there, we werent there (indyhelis), now hirobo, and who knows who else....

If we can get obama out of office maybe things will pick up again and we can all make ircha again soon...

One thing you need to consider also is that for companies such as Hirobo this event is not one that they profit from. For them is it only a showing event as they aren't selling any merchandise at it. The cost of manning a booth for 4-5 days simply isn't feasible.

Hirobo's reputation shouldn't and won't be tarnished by not attending IRCHA.

they're gonna fade out just like robbe did here in the usa... but robbe's problems started when you just couldnt get parts... they were great machines.. Gary Wright and Bob Johnson flew the **** out of them and Gary brought home a 3rd place in the worlds one year but doesnt mean squat when they lost popularity...

Maybe we should ask Jeff Green what the story is with Hiribo these days? Oh wait, he left hirobo too didnt he...

who knows, could be any number of reasons...

lay off Hirbo. If you really look around Hitec and Align was not there either. I was upset that ron lund was not here, but he sent at a memo early on why. there was also a couple of others who was not here. This being the largest Heli event in the USA. everyone should atleast be repersented But sometime thing provent all the vendors for showing up.

Is it the weekend yet?

Hobby King don't have to be there they are popular enough and gaining. Everyone knows them and they don't claim to make the finest models.

I don't think Hirobo has much to worry about, as They know the market quite well, and target a certain audience only. They are not a mainstream kinda company like Align or any of the others. Quite honestly Im glad for that, as they would have junk equipment like the rest of the mainstreamer.

Hirobo doesn't need to be there. All hirobo owners are proud (Inclding me)... Well it's just better if they were there though.

Edit: FlyingBrian you are correct. I agree with you 100%

Hirobo
does not need the usa market at all to do well.
You should see how many machines they sell in japan alone.

Hirobo models were well represented at the NATS running during the IRCHA event.

Team Futaba, Team Synergy/Rail, Team Scorpion, Team Castle Creations, YS Engines, VelTye

The cost of exhibiting becomes questionable in this economy when the event is held at a union venue - such as I HOBBY EXPO at the Donald E. Stevens Convention Center near Chicago. Exhibitors pay thousands of dollars for space, electricity, booth dressings, and venue labor.

IRCHA, on the other hand, was a very inexpensive (relative to the norm) opportunity for any exhibitor to shine in front of a targeted audience.

I could not find an IRCHA vendor that had parts in stock
for my HIROBO EVO 90

Experience R/C had the full line of parts for the Hirobo SDX
but no EVO 90 parts.
