OK fanbois....I just ordered my first V Bar.

I'm going to put it on a Trex 500 so I can make a fair comparison against my Trex 500 3G.

It's the blue Mini V.

I might use one on a Trex 700E as well.

Any tips on power requirements on a 700?
Someone said use a Y cable but didn't elaborate. What's that mean?

I have a CC10 BEC so I can set the voltage to whatever and my RX pack is 3S so I can make any voltage needed.

Right now it's set to 5.1 volts.

I literally never use the word literally right.

I would not use the CC10 on a 700. Use Western Robotics super hercules BEC.
Use of Y cable is so enough power can be input. Small gauge wire will have too much resistance.

The CC10 is actually on my 500.
I will use a 50 amp on the 700.

About the Y cable ..... what is it hooked to?What is on the end of each leg?

2 legs to the RX and one leg to the BEC. like someone said the small wires have lots of resistance. Doesn't it come with dual leads so you don't have to do this? I know the CC bec pro does

All righty then.lol...

Got the trim hover out of the way and did some long hovering drills with the V Bar so it could do its learning.

The worst it ever behaved before it trimmed itself out,was better than the best hover the 3G ever gave me.
I turned it around nose in and it just sit there staring at me.

It has almost no drift in slow piros.

Got some new batteries coming along with some FBL specific Edge blades.

This lil 500 hovers as steady and smooth as my 600 easy.

$300 well spent.

I'm digging my new ESC too.
I always used Align but decided to try a Castle Ice Lite 75.
It even sounds different.Weird.
Spools up too fast for me but I have the Castle link and Castle link Splitter on the way.The splitter lets me plug into the Castle link without unplugging the ESC from the V Bar or RX.

can't wait to hear some more flight reports. Sounds like the new mini-vbar is a winner

It's a complex, costly, glow powered anti-gravity machine!

V-Bar is supreme.

Mikado says to only use the Mini on electrics, but of any size.

The full size V-Bar is preferred on machines where vibration is an issue, because the sensor can be isolated.

Frankly, my mini V-Bar (blueline) did great on my 700N with a new un-tuned YS913DS, which isn't the smoothest engine, but the 700N has a lot of plastic so it will naturally dampen. I mounted it on the gyro sensor tray with some Zeal tape.

My experience with vbar has overal been good. My collective management sucks so I bury the sticks all the time. Apparently FBL sends much more power through the drive train as I've started stripping front TT gears (3 times in two months) on my 600 doing piros to the right on tic tocs and cobras. I've started doing those moves to left and not had problems any more. Got to love the sim! Stripped main gear yesterday though Never had this happen before FBL. Overall I like the way the heli flies better though.

Rogman88 - stripping gears is going to be a mesh issue ... Do they make mod 1.0 gears for the 600? If so, i would pick up a set, fewer and thicker teeth, deeper groove .. but they are noisy .. and they won't strip ..

There is a KDE mod that uses the mod .7 700 main gear on the mains. The 700 is a little taller so more plastic to bite into. Closer inspection shows that my motor/pinion actually pushed away a little causing not enough of each tooth to have enough plastic. I always mesh tight and let it wear down as needed
