I just purchased a scorpion motor for my t rex 500 its the 1400kv. Is this motor more powerful than the 1600kv? also, what pinion gear do i need to use, and do i need to get a bigger speed controller.
thank you

The same ESC should be fine, and yes you need to go at least one tooth pinion bigger, that is if you want the same head speed, because the 1400 does not turn as fast as a 1600.

The 1400Kv pulls a lot of amps so make sure you have a 30C or higher LiPo. Lower C LiPo’s have been known to puff up and you have to trash them.

If you have a lot of lower C batteries you could cut the max pitch down to prevent destroying the batteries. Something like +/-9 might work for low C batteries.
