I just got back from IRCHA, and spoke with Curtis concerning my Velocity "bouncing" mainly on elevator inputs and harder stops. I was only there Saturday, and did not bring the heli(as Curtis offered to fly it and fine tune it! I felt like an idiot not bringing it)
Curtis thought my dampers were maybe a bit too hard, so I changed them today from the black 90's to the red 80's. I also remembered that I had removed all the expo from the "flight tunning-advanced page" where it was 30%. I just thought I would use my own expo from radio( 5 to 10%). Well I added that 30% back into the TG advanced tunning page, then used zero expo in my radio.
My bouncing is gone! This heli absolutely is flying wonderful. tracking is on rails, precise and very smooth, and can be very quick with full stick inputs. The piro rate is super steady, and just holds really solid. I was amazed how large and fast my backwards loops could be made with really no tail inputs, very little cyclic correction. I'm still adjusting the roll and flip stops, up to 39 on all so far-this is where I need the G view, so I don't have to run home to make adjustments.
adampatrick: I used stock tail settings with my desk top. The tail on the Velocity is very smooth and precise, a very good design. I'm using full pitch slider limits, 8900G servo, JR long servo arm at 17mm, Radix 95mm blds, gain currently at 65. I have no waging anywhere, I may even try some more gain. My FC gain is at 62, using SWE 630 blades, HS at 2050 rpm with YS56. Am going to try my black white SAB 620's again to compare.
