RR Guys,

Hobby City released their long awaited Nano-Tech Batteries
today. I dont see a 6S yet, but Im sure it will be on the
website in a few days. Looks like the C ratings are way up
there as well. 45C with 90C bursts? They also say that 3D
performance will be extremely boosted... wonder if this is
just some hype... or the real deal. Anybody have one of these
batteries yet?... love to hear what y'all think.

from the HK website...

Nano-tech

More than just a fancy name. TURNIGY nano-tech lithium polymer batteries are built with an LiCo nano-technology substrate complex greatly improving power transfer making the oxidation/reduction reaction more efficient, this helps electrons pass more freely from anode to cathode with less internal impedance.
In short; less voltage sag and a higher discharge rate than a similar density lithium polymer (non nano-tech) battery.
For those that love graphs, it means a straighter, longer curve. For pilots it spells stronger throttle punches and unreal straight-up performance.
Excellent news for 3D pilots!

Unfortunately with other big brands; numbers, ratings and graphs can be fudged. Rest assured, TURNIGY nano-techs are the real deal, delivering unparalleled performance!

Spec.
Capacity: 5000mAh
Voltage: 4S1P / 4 Cell / 14.8V
Discharge: 45C Constant / 90C Burst
Weight: 585g (including wire, plug & case)
Dimensions: 166x50x37mm
Balance Plug: JST-XH
Discharge Plug: 5.5mm bullet-connector

I can't wait to try these, but 6s is needed indeed. If I venture a guess it will be under $100

Nano

By definition Nano is: A very small guy running on a conveyor belt inside the battery generating electrons so you can fly your heli.

I heard that different labs in colleges were working on this tech. a year or two ago. But I did not expect it to be out to the public this quick. Seems like they at this point might be a bit on the heavy side, ie 4 cell 5000 585G 585/4 = 146.25 X 6 = 877.5 TP claims 795g for 45C.
Maybe if TP comes out with these, they will be rated @ 60C with an 8-10C charge rate!

Look at this... the 6S batteries are here... at 102.00

Looks like 6000mah instead of 5000. Wonder if we can run these on
our Trex 600s..?

Around 760g for the 6S 5000mAh pack is pretty good (not too heavy).

But still only claiming a 25C continuous discharge rating
What is so much better about that?

You'd figure the "nano" batteries would allow 45C or greater?

yeah me too. I will say though. - Right now I have three batteries for my 600 and 500 each. I get to fly maybe once a day if the wind is low. After 30mins of fly time... Im pretty satisfied.

If Im out at a field with the guys, I can still keep em comin because of the charge rate now.

Im happy about new technologies too. I will say Im satisfied with the way things are now.

very happy about even better things!

man I love my copters!
