Who's in for New Year's day get together. I think it would be a good idea to cook and have a great time on New Year's Day. If people are interested please let me know. If the weather holds out I think Pete is going to bring the sound system. Good friends, good music, good food what else could there be oh yeah helicopters. If anyone is interested in bringing food please let us know.

Well it's about time for the first meeting of the year. December 7 at 11:00 AM at Jimmy's place.

Looks like you guys had a really good day today. I sure wish I could've been there. This is going to be a great year for the Eagles.

Don as the weather gets colder you're going to want to be careful kissing things like a helicopter. We would hate to have to take you to an emergency room to get that thing pried off your lips. I bet if that logo could talk it could tell some good stories.

San Diego or Hawaiian type weather would be hard to deal with this time of year. Be sure to wear a jacket in case it gets nippy.

Eagle's Rock

Wow!!! That's some warm weather Craig. I bet you haven't even had time to get out the truck and do a flight or 2. The pics at Minor looked good. I'm glade to see the eagles are refusing to go to there nest for the entire winter. I know Jan- Feb will be the hardest to deal with. Even here in Ga. I'm excited to know that a few of the members are getting new machines. If you all don't mind please announce all new equipment and please share with the club how it is working out for you. You know. Pros & Cons . It's good to learn from one another. Sharing experiences with equipment really will save us the heart ache or motivate us to purchase equipment that really works well. Thanks Team Eagles

Cortez, now you know I can't fly when I'm working. It's all work and no play for me. Right...

Sharing information. Jimmy's 700 with the KDE motor was the most amazing helicopter I've ever flown. I also liked the way the beast-X felt after Mikey G reprogrammed it. I didn't really get to fully test it, but it sure felt good when I was flying it. It is truly an amazing helicopter, definitely on my wish list. One problem with power and speed is its own ability to self-destruct. I was there the day Jimmy wrecked the helicopter and that too was amazing. It was one of the most destructive RC crashes I've ever seen. The laws of physics really seemed to come into play when the helicopter hit the ground. Speed, power and weight of batteries can equal total helicopter destruction. Those are the kind of crashes that can make a pilot quit the hobby. It's also a helicopter with such amazing power that it can make you want to come right back. The Alpha male side of my brain is telling me to get one before everyone else can. The logical side of my brain is leting me know if I do it will mean total Financial ruin. There are some things the average guy just can't seem to afford. F1 cars, Topfuel dragsters, fighter jets, P-51 mustangs and now it looks like RC helicopters are even getting out of my price range. It's almost kind of sad, but true. To stay competitive in the RC Heli world it's getting very expensive for the average guy. The next thing you know pilots will be hauling these things around in the back of semi trucks with pit crews and sponsored by million dollar corporations. I know, I know, I'm starting to sound like a whiner, I'll shut up. On the bright side, a helicopter like that could make me lose weight simply by the fact that I don't have money to eat. Diet...here I come.

lol!! I agree. The money one can throw at this hobby is crazy. Women will not tolerate men over spending and breaking the budget for toys. On the bright side. We can own 1 machine and fly it often. Most pilots only crash 1-4 times a year. For me it varies. I actually lost count. But i will say its been a great year and only small crashes caused by electronic glitches or mechanical failure. Thanks for sharing your experience with the KDE motor. I'm happy with the stock power of the Trex 700E v2. Instead of upgrading the motor I will work on new maneuvers and my flying style. If I ever feel the need for more power i will consider the KDE motor. Thanks for sharing guys.

I like Craig's idea about having a tradition gathering on January 1, 2012 at Minor Park Heli field. It's called a freeze fly. I'll bring the grill if you guys want to chip in on food. We can start the year off right. Weather permitting, I'll bring the sound system for some music. I'm open for any other suggestions. Post them on RR.
